Spa Birthday Party!

My girls really wanted a friend birthday party. So we decided to do it in January. I let them invite 4 friends each. They were super excited. We did it on a Friday at 2pm. We decided to do a "Spa Party". I had my mother in law, Shelly, come and help me. She brought Jazzi and Ella with her to the party.

All the girls got here and we took them downstairs. I had them all sit down and relax on the couches. Then we put on the movie, Frozen. They watched the movie while Shelly and I went to each girl and either painted their toes or their fingernails. Then I would come back and do a design. They had a lot of fun. I had a lot of snacks that they could eat as they watched too.
Yeah, party decorations!

Here's the tray of goodies and then the tray of all the nail polish and stuff!

All the girls showing me what they got done....their feet or hands!

Then we let the girls do their make up. Not everyone wanted to do it, which was fine. We told them that if they wanted too they could. Some girls did their own and others asked Shelly and I to do their make up. So that was fun.
The girls getting some make up on!

We then went out to the garage for the piñata. I had put down a tarp and hung the piñata out there. We lined up the girls and all the girls were able to hit it 3 times. It got a little crazy, with kids trying to run out to get the candy. But nobody got hurt. We got all the candy and put it in a big bowl. I put it in the their goodie bags for after.
Abbi hitting the piñata!

Brianna's turn!

Gathering up all the candy!

Things got a little crazy at that point. There were 15 girls there and that makes for a lot of noise. At one point Cadence just started screaming. I thought she got hurt. She was so upset. I had to take her upstairs, away from everyone and make sure she was OK. We've been having different issues with her and I think she just got overwhelmed by everyone and all the noise. She said it just freaked her out. I think she deals with anxiety sometimes. We are looking into more. Poor girl. She just wanted to go in her room and play with her friend, Alexa. I felt kind of bad. But it all worked out.

We had everyone come up and we sang happy birthday to the girls and then everyone had cake and ice cream. There were a lot of girls and a lot of conversation going on! Too funny! They were all talking and laughing!

Happy Birthday to my girls!

Everyone eating their cake and ice cream!

We then moved into the living room and my girls got to open their gifts. It was a lot of fun and they got a lot of fun stuff. The kids loved watching the girls open their presents. After that a couple of girls had to go home.
Everyone lining up to watch Brianna, Cadence and Abbi.

Brianna loved her hat from Maddi!

Abbi opening up her present!

Lots of fun!

But the rest were still here for another 45 minutes. I had stuff to make bracelets with. So whoever wanted to do that came up and made themselves a necklace and bracelets.

Cadence and Alexa sat down and played with the new toys that Cadence got. Those two girls get a long so well. It was fun to watch them play so good together. Cadence was just fine playing quietly with Alexa!

Others went downstairs and finished watching the movie, Frozen. Then I put on Just Dance Disney on the WII. They had a blast taking turns dancing. There was a lot of laughter coming from downstairs.
Tessa and Ella dancing with the WII!

Then it was time for the girls to go home. I had made some cute gift bags for the girls to take home. It was all with the spa theme. I had fun finding stuff to put in the bags. They each got a little nail polish, a nail file, a pink boa, fancy soap, and lip gloss. Then I added a bag of candy from the piñata!
The goody bags!

All in all, I think it turned out pretty good. It was a little chaotic. We only had a few incidents. We had two get mad and were not happy when they left. They wanted to do things their way and were mad when nobody listened to them. There were some big personalities there!! Ha ha! But it turned out ok. Cadence and Brianna both informed me afterwards that they would rather have our family birthday party instead of another friend one. They had fun, but it was a little crazy!! I am not a party person and we don't usually have friend birthday parties. But I always do fun things as a family!! It was a fun afternoon!!

Magrath Elementary School Choir!

This year all my girls decided to go into the School Choir. They were promised at the beginning on the year that they would be able to go to a hockey game and sing and then stay for the game. I think that was a huge reason why they chose to be in Choir. All of them have asked me if they could quit, but I told them no. I didn't force them to join, so they need to stick it out. They can chose not to go in choir next year. Mean mom, eh?!!

Anyways, I think they were glad they stayed. I drove the bus a couple of Saturdays ago to take them to the hockey game. They were all very excited. We got there and it was very busy. DJ and I had to park the bus so we caught up with them later. As we walked in we got to say hi to Jill. She works at the Hurricane games. Then we went and found our seats. We were in the next section over from the girls. They loved that they got to sit with all their friends and I wasn't right there! Oh, as we were waiting for the game to start, this big blimp kept flying right over the kids' heads. Well it came by 1 to many times. Because some of the kids were able to grab it. We had to yell at them to let it go!! Then it stayed away from our section. Ha ha!
This is just at they let the Blimp go!

All the kids trying to touch the Blimp!

The hockey game was about to start. They turned the lights down and our kids stood up and sang, "O Canada". Wow they sounded absolutely amazing. I was very proud of all of them. Then the fun began. They got to watch the game with their friends. Their choir teacher told the kids that they could go to the bathroom or go buy treats as long as they went with a buddy. Abbi took that literally and loved getting up and going exploring with a buddy. I wasn't so sure about it. I would get up to follow them and she would be all annoyed with me!!

DJ was in heaven. I am so glad that he was able to have a nap earlier that day. He was in a good mood and thought it was so cool to watch the hockey game. He would ask questions and I would try my best to answer it correctly! I got the kids a drink and some popcorn. They thought that was great!
He was very intent on watching the game!

Here's a picture of the action!

Later in the game I went and got them a snow cone in a cup. They were all in heaven. They were huge and none of my kids finished it. Oh well! It was cute to watch them have so much fun! The girls stayed with their friends the whole time. DJ and I sat together with a few other moms.

My cute boy eating his blue snow cone!

He was really into the game!

Tessa, Brianna and Cadence all stuck together. They had fun watching the game too!

Mote of their friends too!

Love Abbi's really blue.

We planned on leaving at 9pm. It was before the game was over, but that was ok. DJ and I went out a bit earlier to go get the bus. We pulled it around in front and waited for the rest of the kids. Then we headed for home. By the time we got home and kids in bed it was after 10pm. They all had a blast. So glad we were able to go with them.

Ten On Tuesday!

OK I had some funny things that I needed to write down before I forget them. So I thought that I would do a Ten on Tuesday! Easiest way and they are so fun to go back and read.

1. On Sunday, Brianna had to say closing prayer in Primary. She knew it and told me about it Sunday morning. I told her that she says good prayers and that she can do it by herself. My girls get too shy and always want help with their prayers, even though they can say it by themselves. I told her to think about what she wants to say before then just go say it. Well, during Sacrament meeting she was busy writing things down on a paper. I didn't think anything of it, because we always let them write on paper. Richard said, that they called Brianna up to say the prayer. He said she walked up and stood at the pulpit and unfolded a piece of paper and read her prayer. Oh my, I about died of laughter. So cute! She did it all on her own. She is such a cutie!

2. I was driving bus in Raymond and DJ was a little grumpy and I told him we could go get a donut afterwards. Well he was so excited. He kept jumping up and down and yelling, "I love their muffets!" That's what he calls donuts! So funny! Well we went and they were in the middle of moving everything around in the store, so there were no donuts. He walked up to the bakery and put his forehead on the glass and just stood there. I had to bite my lip. It was kind of funny. The poor boy was heart broken. We got in the truck and he just sat there with his arms folded and his lip sticking out. Then two tears rolled down his cheeks. Aaawwww. I felt bad, but was so proud of him that he didn't throw a huge fit!
My cute little, "cool dude" with crazy hair!!

3. Abbi and Cadence told me yesterday that they wanted to do the FHE lesson. I told them OK. Richard was working late and I was getting supper ready and I was fine with them doing that. Well they went down and spent a while working on it. I helped them look up a scripture. Then we sat down at the table for the lesson. Richard had just gotten home, so he sat down too. They blew me away with their lesson. Wow!! It was on the creation and they did AWESOME! They had a piece of paper for each of us and told us what to draw for each day. They talked about it. Then they talked about what happened when Adam and Eve partook of the forbidden fruit. Cadence loved giving us the lesson. So did Abbi. Richard asked me afterwards, how much I helped them. I told him I didn't do a thing. He was shocked too! My girls are growing up! So cute!

4. I had Brianna's Primary teacher, Sis. Jones, come up to me and tell me that Brianna was such a sweetheart. I guess Brianna wrote her teacher a note on her new stationary. It said, I love you, you are a good teacher. So stinking cute. Brianna loves to write everyone little messages. I get one often on my pillow. Love it! Anyways, Sis. Jones loved it so much that she put it in her journal!

5. Richard and I went to a primary teacher appreciation night last week. It was basically dinner and games. It was fun. We played Pictionary and we all had some good laughs. We were laughing really hard at Richard's picture. It was a Jaguar, but we all kept calling it a cow or deer. You probably had to be there, but it was super funny! I took a picture of his drawing!
There's his jaguar with flippers as feet!! Ha ha!

6. DJ has been going to speech once a week and loves it. He's doing really good with his speech. We are working on the "K" sound. He's doing awesome. He loves the activities that the speech teacher always has planned. He thinks it's so fun. I had to take a picture of the snowman he made!
After DJ said a work with the "k" sound properly then he got to put something on his snowman. He loved this game!

There's DJ cool looking snowman that he made!

7. We've had weird weather lately. It's been really nice out. So DJ and I went out one day to play in the snow. There wasn't very much snow and it was getting really warm out so I knew the snow wasn't going to last. So we worked hard to make a little snowman. Kai and Beck came out and helped us. It was fun.
There is Kai and Beck by our cool looking snowman!

DJ looks like a monster next to them!! Ha ha! Love his wolfie hat!

DJ diving off his big snowball! What a funny kid!

8. I watched Keira last Tuesday. It's always fun when she comes over. All my kids love it and so do I. She's such a happy girl. We took the kids to school and Keira and I came back home. We went back and got DJ and then came back and they both ran up and down the road. It was nice out and they had fun. Keira loved DJ's little craft table. She sat in there and colored and talked to herself. So cute! She's so cute when she naps here too. DJ would always go and check on her. Then he came and told me that he was laying down for a nap too! So cute!
DJ riding his scooter and Keira would run after him! A car came by us (I was holding her hand), then she started running after it yelling at the car!

Keira busy coloring and sucking on her sucker! Love her big blue eyes!

Keira sound asleep on Cadence's bed. She loved Cadence's new fluffy blanket. It was just like her bunny!

DJ laying down for a nap with all his stuffed animals. He stayed in there for about 20mins, he didn't sleep but it was a good quiet time!

9. I've had some crazy bus adventures lately. I've gotten stuck twice. The kids loved it! Me, not so much. I was able to get them to the school by 9am, so not too late. Another time I couldn't get the bus to go faster than 60km/hr. But it was super icy out and windy so I wasn't too worried, because I wasn't on the highway. But then I had to go to Spring Coulee later that morning and then it just conked out on me. So we had kids on the bus and we were pulled over on the highway. That was fun!! Then I drove a brand new bus and when I turned it off, in front of my house, it started beeping. I grabbed the back handle and opened and shut it. But then the horn started honking, louder and louder. I could not get it to turn off. I had to call Cardston and I guess I had to open the back door really wide. Sheesh, that was a little crazy! Oh the joys!

10. DJ had a bad habit of waking up in the middle of the night to eat something. So we have been having him eat a big bowl of cereal just before he goes to bed. It has been working really good. One night the girls decided they wanted a bowl of cereal too. It was cute seeing them all quietly eating their cereal! Funny kids!
All my kids ready for bed eating their cereal. This was Saturday night so they were all showered and clean!

Yum, yum!!

11. Cadence and Brianna came home from school last week with their own igloos that they made. They were so proud. It was super cute. So I took a picture of them holding their igloos. Then they happily ate their igloos!!
Cadence and Brianna so proud of their cute little igloos! Good job girls!
12. DJ and Abbi made a little castle out of a big box that their dad brought home. DJ insisted on having it brought upstairs. He will sit in it and watch his cartoons. So funny. He will ask for a snack and I will give it to him through the little hole. He loves his castle!
DJ's castle with the little peep hole!

DJ watching on the Ipad and drinking his hot chocolate milk. What a life!!

13. Ok I have to add one more. I have to say that my Brianna is like a little ghost sometimes. She, seriously, has scared me so many times, and not on purpose. It's always at night time when she's suppose to be in bed. Just tonight I was sitting on the couch with all the lights off. I had just logged onto my computer and heard a tiny sound. I looked to my left and there's Brianna standing right beside me. I screamed and about jumped out of my skin. Oh my!! So scary. I can't handle it! Ha ha! But she does this all the time. It's usually because she needs something, but she talks in a really tiny whisper at night and I can never hear her. She used to wake me up in the middle of the night by tapping me on the forehead. Over and over and over. I would be dreaming that someone was torturing me and wake up to Brianna tapping on my forehead. Oh I would usually wake up super annoyed!! Love her, but have told her not to wake me up like that if she wants me to be helpful instead of super grumpy! Ha ha! Talking about getting scared. The other morning I ran out to start the bus and was slowly walking back to the garage. I was thinking about my day and as I walked into the garage the lights went out. I stopped and thought to myself, "Oh man the light bulb burnt out." Then someone said, "Janae." And I screamed and almost fell back wards and was dancing around. It scared me so bad. Richard was just standing there. This is at 7:00am. When I left the house 5 mins earlier everyone was asleep. Man it about gave me a heart attack. Maybe I am a little bit jumpy! Ha ha!

So there, that gets us caught up on all the little things that have been happening.

My Girl's Baptism!

So the day finally came. My three beautiful girls were baptized on Saturday, Jan 11th. Of course, they turned 8 on December 26. We had talked to the Bishop and decided to do it in the New Year. We talked to the girls and talked to them about it too. They were happy with the 11th. It happened to be their Grandma Spencer's birthday too. So they thought it was really neat.

A week before they were to be baptized the Bishop had set up an appointment to have an interview with each of the girls. We had talked to them and had FHE about baptism and what to expect. Anyways, that Sunday Abbi was being grumpy and telling me her tummy hurt. We went to church and she kept being super sad. She kept saying her tummy really hurt and she felt like she was going to throw up. So after sacrament meeting I took her home. I still really didn't believe her (so bad). But all of the sudden she ran to the bathroom and threw up. Poor girl. We had to go back to the church to pick up the others, plus the girls were having their interviews right after the block. Abbi was in her jammies and watching a movie in the vehicle. She had a bucket with her too. So Brianna went in first and then Cadence. I told the Bishop that Abbi was sick but I could run her in quickly. So I did and the interview was quick. Then I ran her back out and we went back home and she barely made it in the house before she threw up again. Oh boy!

So the day came. My girls were SO EXCITED. That's an understatement. It was just like Christmas to them. Cadence woke up at 5:30am that morning. I got her to go back to sleep on my floor, at least. We got up and got going. Richard woke up feeling nauseous and not feeling good at all. So I got all the kids ready. He took some medicine and a hot shower. We had to be at the church around 10:30am. So the morning was a little crazy, but we got everyone ready and out the door before 10:30am. DJ was a bit grumpy, but he came!!

I got the girls dressed in their baptismal dresses. They were so excited. We went out and they saw their dad in his white clothes. So we had to take some pictures before everyone got there. It brought tears to my eye to see how big and beautiful my girls looked. They were so happy and excited. We took a family picture too. DJ was still grumpy, but we got an OK family picture!
Richard, with his 3 girls all dressed in white!

Our cute little family!!

The program was simple but perfect. My mom gave the talk on Baptism. She did a perfect job. Then it was time for my girls to be baptized. They talked about it before hand and they all agreed that they were going to go in order. So Abbi went first. Brianna, Cadence and I were on the side watching. Then Abbi came over and Brianna went in and then it was Cadence's turn. Cadence was a little nervous about it, but she did so good. I had a towel for each of my girls and wrapped them up. I took them back to the change room where they were so happy and excited and talking about how good they felt. I loved it. We got them dry and dressed and ready to go back out.

All the cousins and my girls then got up and sang, "I Am A Child Of God." Jill played the piano for us and I led them. It sounded so good. Then Richard's mom, Shelly, gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. She had my girls come up and take things out of a box that represented the Holy Ghost. Then all 3 of them got a new white fuzzy blanket from their Grandma to help remind them of the Holy Ghost. They loved that.

Then it was time for them to be confirmed. Richard did so good. I was so proud of my husband. He is an amazing man, and I love him so much. He is a worthy priesthood leader that loves his family very much. Anyways, he then confirmed all 3 of our girls. Then the Bishop got up and welcomed the girls into the Ward and said a few things about the importance of Baptism.

After the Baptism, we had everyone stay at the church and we had lunch there. I had made beef on a bun and people brought salads and squares to eat. We were so happy that so many of our family members were able to make it. My girls loved to be able to play with their cousins. It was fun to visit with everyone and eat some food. Oh I forgot to mention that my girls were wearing their white dresses that their Grandma Spencer bought for their birthdays. They looked beautiful.
Grandpa Pitcher sitting with his Great Grandchildren! So cute!

Everyone sitting down eating.

Lining up getting some food. We had the missionaries there too! This was a new Elder and he is from Germany. A very happy, excited Elder and so fun to talk too!

There's the birthday girl! We sang happy birthday to Shelly!

Then the dessert table came out! Yummy!

Aunt Jill and Keira! What a cutie!

Cute Evan, picking out a treat from the dessert table.

Evan is so cute, and Cody looks a little scary!

Lisa and Spencer. Spencer was really enjoying eating his food. We were cleaning up and he was still busy eating. So cute!
Our 3 cute girls. Brianna, Abbi and Cadence in their new white dresses. They are all different and they look so beautiful!

They love each other so much!

It was a really good day. I felt really bad for Richard, he was really starting to feel terrible. But he made it till we got back home. Then he took some medicine and went to bed. We cleaned up and came home. Everyone else went out to my parents house. So the kids and I came home and got dressed and headed out there too. The kids had so much fun running around and playing together. I was hoping that DJ would fall asleep on the way to the farm, and he did. He was so tired. He slept for almost an hour. Then he came in and was happy. The girls had fun listening to the new songs from the movie "Frozen." So cute. It was a relaxing afternoon.
All the girls and Grandma Paxman watching a clip from Frozen.

They all look so cute!

Then we had to head back home. The girls choir was going to the Enmax center to sing O'Canada for the hockey game. They were very excited. I was driving one of the buses. The original idea was Richard and DJ were coming with us on the bus. But Richard was still sick. So DJ came with us, hence why he needed a nap. Anyways, it was a great day. I will write more on the hockey game in it's own post.
