Living Everyday Life!

We live life everyday so it makes sense to write about everyday life!! I love my kids so much and they are pretty awesome! I admit sometimes they drive me crazy with the way they fight with each other. It does happen here. It's those amazing moments when they get along and are laughing together and working together that makes it all worth it. I love seeing them get along it makes my heart sing!! Ha ha!!

The weather has been so nice lately that we've been trying to take advantage of that. It has become an almost daily routine to go for a walk all together after we eat supper. Sometimes it's just a short walk other times we explore everywhere. The kids love going and we've really enjoyed it too. I absolutely LOVE living out in the country. It's what I always dreamed of! I love the fresh air and having my blinds open without worrying about someone peaking inside!! Ha ha! I love walking with my family around our land. It's small things like that that help us grow closer together.

More playing on the dirt hills!

Oh look, can it be spring time all ready!!

Abbi down catching minnows for our fish tank!

Oh Brianna you are so beautiful!

One Sunday I had to go drive the Handi-Bus to go take some ladies from Good Sam's to the Easter Program at the church. I hurried off to get there in time. I came home a couple of hours later. I walked in and the house was dark downstairs. I came slowly down the stairs and opened the door and Cadence jumped out and yelled surprise and scared me half to death! Ha ha! DJ and Brianna yelled surprise too. They turned on the lights and the basement was spotless. They cleaned everything up for me. It was such a sweet surprise. I loved it! They were so happy, bouncing around showing me everything they did. I loved it too! It was so sweet!

Oh I should mention that before I left to drive the Handi-Bus all 4 kids were working together making cupcakes for dessert. It was so cute and funny to watch. Made me smile. They didn't want me to help at all. So I just quickly took a bunch of pictures and then said good bye!
Busy reading the instructions and stirring the mix together.

Pouring in the oil.

Lots of hands helping stir the mix!

I surprised my girls by taking them to the play in Raymond, The Wizard of Oz. They were pretty excited to go. I was excited to go with them. This was on a Monday night, so Richard and DJ took off together to go watch the movie, Zootopia, in Lethbridge. It was a late night for all of us. But we all had a good time. The play was really good, just too long! Ha ha! The girls enjoyed going with me and their Grandma and Grandpa Paxman. It was fun!

On Thursday before Good Friday I had boiled eggs so the kids could dye them after school. They were so excited. So I had things all ready and they started dying their eggs. Richard even got into the fun too. Just as we were finishing all the eggs, Richard brought out a bottle of pickled eggs. The kids were all curious. They all wanted to try. So I grabbed my camera. I was surprised that most of them actually liked them. Then Brianna took a bite and I got the best pictures ever! Ha ha!
Brianna carefully dying her eggs and then letting them dry!

DJ loved figuring out what color he was going to use and then carefully dip it in!

Abbi with some of her eggs already colored!

Cadence had to make at least one egg bright yellow!!

Abbi didn't believe in using spoons!

Richard had fun making a #1 Dad egg! Ha ha!

Brianna blowing her eggs dry!

Brianna just took a bite of the pickled egg! Not looking very impressed!

This is not tasting good!

Never mind......this is disgusting! Ha ha! Love Abbi's expression too! Ha ha!

Ba ha ha ha!! Seriously it was so funny to watch!

On Good Friday we woke up to SNOW!!! We were all pretty excited. We seriously needed the moisture. So we quickly cleaned up and then I took whoever wanted too, outside to go sledding. DJ and Cadence were all over that. Abbi went out to go explore around in the snow! I got some cool shots of them sledding. Then I pulled them behind the quad out to the field so they could sled down that hill. It was so much fun! It wasn't really that cold out either. We had a fun morning!
I caught DJ in mid air. He was running and then jumping onto his sled! Good form DJ!

Cadence just jumped onto her sled too!

Big smiles. The mud was too soft. It wasn't letting them slide down at all!

He had to try one more time!

Good landing. But then he ended up on his tummy.....it didn't slide at all!

Leia running around in the snow.

DJ pulling Cadence through the gate.

Cadence riding behind the quad on a sled.

They look so cute!

Cadence slid down the hill!

Go DJ! He actually got more then half way down!

Cadence had really good balance too!

Brownie had fun watching us and chasing us everywhere!

Cadence pulled DJ behind the quad. Brownie had fun chasing after him! I was on behind Cadence!

So that kind of gets us caught up a bit. I feel like I haven't sat down and blogged very much lately. My kids are always saying or doing funny things. I need to remember them and write them down as much as I can. I enjoy our days, even if we think they are boring. I want to remember what we did!!

Cadence's Clogging Recital!

Cadence was the only one that went into Clogging this year. It's her favorite thing to do. She loves it! She had the option this year to go to competition. But that scared her so she opted out. I was fine with that. There's plenty of time for her to go to competitions! So she went to her weekly class with 5 other girls. Most of them were a year younger. She wasn't sure if she liked that at first but then quickly realized that they were all a lot of fun. She had a blast with them. Always came home with some funny stories!

Her recital was last Thursday. She actually had a practise right after school for 45 minutes then I had to get her back to the school by 6pm. The recital started at 7pm. We came just before 7pm. I love seeing them all dressed up in their costumes waiting for their turn. I got a picture of her class before they went on. They did two dances. Here's a picture of their first dance. I videoed it all so I didn't get a lot of pictures.
Such cute outfits they had! Kristen wasn't in their group but she's good friends with Emma and Cadence!

They did awesome!

Then they had to wait their turn again and then did their second dance. It was a modeling song. So they had to pose like models. Cadence thought that that was really funny!! She did so good! We loved watching her!
Cadence giving me her super model pose!! So cute!

Waiting for the music!

This was after the dance. I wasn`t quick enough to get their ending pose!! Ha ha! They did so good!

Afterwards they met with their teachers and got their certificates. We got her some flowers and surprised her with them. She loved it! It was a fun evening. We are finished with clogging till the fall!
Cadence with her teacher, Jessica!

My beautiful, talented clogging girl, Cadence!! She loved her flowers and she got a whole package of Starbursts from her teacher too!

Basketball!

We went to a lot of basketball games this year to cheer Chase on. He is in Grade 12 so it's his last year. We've really enjoyed watching all his games. A couple of weeks ago it was Zones. So, of course, we had to go watch. All the games were at the U of L gym. My kids love going there because of the track around the top of the gym. I love it too. They can run and not bother anyone. It's great!

We had some time to waste before a game so we took the kids over to the Nicholas Sheran school park. DJ wanted to play basketball. The girls just ran and played on the playground. So DJ and I practised shooting the ball. He was doing very good. He loves to practise. I got my camera out and was taking some shots of him! I love taking pictures! Ha ha! It was so nice outside too. It was a perfect afternoon.
He loved practising his shot!

Oh my heavens, this picture makes me smile! He was concentrating hard!!

Then we headed over to the U of L to watch Chase play his last game. It was for third place. They played against Medicine Hat. A lot of family was there to cheer him on. I can't remember was the final score was but they ended up beating Medicine Hat. Dillon (the main post) ended up breaking his thumb near the end of the game. It was a pretty rough game. Chase did really good! He ended up playing quite a bit too. So that's good!
DJ and Keira playing a game on my phone!

Emmett being so cute and snuggling with Grandma!

Anna, Cadence and Jayda (a friend that was there), watching from the track.

Chase shooting a foul shot.

Going up for the shot and he was fouled.

The kids are in basketball camp this year. We missed last year because of David being in his accident. We were up in Calgary every weekend last year at this time. DJ was being way to shy and decided he didn't want to go. So I didn't force him. The girls have been going and have loved it. I totally forgot to take my camera to take pictures. There last one is next Saturday but we are going to miss it. We are headed to Kalispell with the Spencer's. Oh well. They have all being doing good and improving. But the most important thing is they all have a blast. So that's great!
