Easter Time!

This year we had the Easter Bunny visit it us Saturday morning. We usually have it on Sunday. But we have a hard enough time getting to church at 9am, without interruptions from the Easter Bunny! So we did it on Saturday. The kids were all excited. I left a trail of jelly beans that they had to follow and they found some new lego sets from the Easter Bunny!

Then they all took off looking for their baskets. I hid the girls baskets a bit harder this year. DJ found his. He thought that it was so funny that the bunny hid it from him. He kept laughing! He kept telling us that he know the real Easter bunny. He saw him at Parent Pre-school. There is a bunny there and his name is Easter bunny or EB. But DJ tells everyone that he's real!! So cute! Anyways, Cadence finally found hers in the ottoman. Brianna found hers in the snack cupboard and Abbi found her in the oven. That tricky bunny!

Then they went outside to find all the colored eggs. It was pretty nice outside. They had fun running around looking for eggs!

Looking for more eggs!

DJ found one!

We then relaxed and didn't do much that morning. I cleaned up a bit, and the kids were busy eating their chocolates and building with their legos! I called Stacey out at Randy's place to see what they were up too. They were here for a couple of days, picking up their boys. They were around and invited us out. So we headed out to the Stewart farm after lunch. The kids were excited to see their cousins. We saw them for a little bit on Wednesday evening, when they first got at my parents. We drove out there after supper.

I should mention that on Thursday, DJ was still acting sick and still fevered and had no energy and was falling asleep everywhere (which is not like him). So I took him back to the doctor and he said that DJ had pneumonia and ear infections. Poor kid. He was kind of miserable. So we got him on some medication.

We got to the farm the same time as my parents. We walked into the house and they were just finishing lunch and all the guys were rushing out to go pull a calf. So we went along with them. Trayden was the lucky one to pull the calf. My kids stood there and watched!! Ha ha!! Good life lesson for them. It was funny with their different reactions. Brianna thought it was just disgusting, and kept making gross faces!! Cadence thought it was all so COOL!!! Abbi was just very interested. She was the one with all the questions after, that I answered. DJ just sat there and watched.

Trayden and the new born calf! Way to go Trayden!

After that, we went over to the corral with the bum calves. They were all very hungry and we fed them with a bottle. All my kids, except for DJ, helped feed a calf. DJ was not being a very happy camper. He kept freaking out on me. So I just picked him up and held him for a bit. That seemed to help. Then his Uncle Steve just grabbed him and put him up on the bale. I thought that DJ was going to flip, but instead he laughed!! Then he wanted to go do things. He even rode the quad with Mikah and his Grandpa.

Chase grabbed Cadence and put her on a calf. Cadence wasn't too impressed!

Brianna actually liked riding the calf! She thought it was pretty funny!

After feeding the calves, my girls took off to go run on the bales. They were having a complete blast. They were also riding the quads with Mikah and Shaylee. DJ stuck with his Grandpa Paxman on a quad. It was super nice out too.

Shaylee was so good at helping my girls and showing them how to jump across!

Linda, Steve's mom, had a big Easter egg hunt for the kids. We helped hide all the eggs. Then we got all the kids together and away they went. It was outside and we hid eggs everywhere. My kids each teamed up with an older kid. It worked out great and all the kids got a lot of candy. It was a lot of fun!
Love this picture of Shaylee, Abbi and Cadence. If you look carefully Cadence's feet are not touching the ground!

DJ showing Mikah the egg he found! Mikah is getting so tall and so beautiful! Makes me feel old!!

Emptying all the candy out of the eggs into bags! They got lots!

DJ had alot!!

We then said good bye to everyone. We gave Steve and Stacey and all their kids big hugs. We won't see them until David's wedding , the first part of July. Oh yeah, I don't think I ever mentioned that my little brother David is getting married. He asked Jill Williams to marry him and she said yes!!! They make a super cute couple. Anyways, that is when Steve and Stacey are coming back down. The kids will be staying here for the summer, so that will be fun to see them!
Grandpa taking DJ and Abbi for another ride just before we left.

Mikah showing us she can still ride a tricycle!

We drove home and DJ crashed. I got home and got him out of the vehicle and he screamed. He screamed for probably an hour or so. I couldn't do anything right for him. We made supper and ate and then he had a bath and went to bed (thank goodness!!)! All the girls went to sleep right away, they were all so exhausted. I love it when they can run around outside and tire themselves out!! So nice!

Ten On Tuesday!

Oh my, I think I'm in a blogging slump! I have so many posts to write and I just don't feel like doing it!! So I'm going to do my easy Ten on Tuesday post. It always helps me get caught up a little bit. But I do have a few posts to do on their own too!

1. We bought a quad from my brother, Cody, a couple of weeks ago. The girls were all super excited about it. DJ wasn't so keen on the idea. But he now loves to go for rides. I might of dragged him on screaming to show him it wasn't scary!! ha ha! Mean mom, but it worked. I went super slow and he had fun!

2. On Good Friday, I decided, last minute, to go shopping with my mom and Emily in Great Falls. They were driving through Magrath and I called them to have them pick me up! It was the perfect timing!! Evan was with us too! Lucky guy!! He is such a cutie. I had to work super hard, so I could hold him for a bit, without him crying!! It was some fun shopping. I got a super cute bathing suite for myself!!
We had lunch at Cafe Rio, and it was delicious! Evan thought the milk drink (can't remember the name), was awesome. He didn't want to stop!

He is so cute!

Evan and I hanging out in the vehicle, and I got him laughing really good. Until his mom started coming out and then he looked at me and started crying. Crazy boy!

3. My 3 girls, got to wear their Easter dresses on Easter Sunday. DJ was so sick (he had pneumonia....which I'll post about later too!), so I stayed home with him. I know he's sick when he has a 2hr nap and then goes to bed at 7pm. Poor guy, he's feeling much better though! He does have a super cute suite to wear next time we got to church. I'll have to take a picture!
Each of my girls picked out their own Easter Dresses! I think they all look super cute!

4. DJ has been going to sleep in the weirdest places lately. I think it had something to do with him being sick too!
DJ and Richard sound asleep. Richard is holding DJ's head up! Kind of funny!

DJ decided to sleep right by his door one night, with all his puppies!

5. This last Saturday I took my kids to the Magrath Ag Society, where they got to meet Amber Marshall. She plays Ami, on Heartland. DJ could of cared less, but my girls LOVE watching Heartland. So we got to see her, have her autograph some pictures and get a picture taken with her. We also got to watch a Rodeo going on too. It was a fun afternoon.
Us with Amber Marshall, and I can't remember the other lady's name! She is the one that teaches all the horses the tricks that they do on the show.

My kids and Cam's 3 girls all standing on the fence, watching the horses.

My kids standing behind the chutes, watching the roping competitions. I was standing in line to see Amber (for my kids)!!

6. We were invited over to the Orr's for a bon fire one night. The kids were super excited. It was last week, when there was no school. So we went and had supper with them. It was nice out and we ate and visited while the kids ran around and played!
My kids and Kale all roasting their hot dogs.

DJ roasting some marsh mellows!

Lucas and DJ playing together. These two are the same age, DJ is 2 1/2 months older, and they have so much fun together. We always get a good laugh about the height difference. DJ is so tall for his age!

Brianna ready to eat her marsh mellow!

7. I took the kids out to the Magrath Farm to "roll" their eggs down the hill. Even though, they ended up throwing them. They had fun. DJ was being very careful and trying to see how many times he could roll his egg. He'd roll it and run down and get it and do it again. Then the kids ran around on the bales.
Abbi running on the bales. We've been loving this spring weather! So nice!

Brianna playing on the bales too.

8.The girls rode their bikes to school, almost by themselves, a while ago. They kept asking me if they could ride their bikes. I said yes. We said good bye and away they went. They about 5 minutes later, DJ and I drove to make sure they were ok. They were just crossing the busy rode when we came up. They all did so good. Luckily I did come along, because after Brianna got back on her bike to ride her pants got caught in the chain. She stood their crying till I figured out what was going on and went and helped her. Poor girl. My girls are growing up though! Sigh!!

9. I've been subbing quite a bit with the buses. Once I even drove the nice white bus for the band students. DJ always comes with me. He loves it. Because when I take students into Lethbridge for swimming, we go too. He thinks that is great! I also do the morning and evening pick ups and drop offs. Some students can be so sassy and a pain in the butt. I'm sure glad my kids listen to adults. Anyways, it makes me grateful for my kids. Love them to death!

10. My girls make a lot of fun things at school. I can't always keep them, because they are so big. So I take pictures of their different "big" crafts. I love seeing the things that they make. For St. Patrick's Day they each made a leprechaun. So cute!
Here's Abbi cute little Leprechaun.

Then their Cadence's little Leprechaun. They had glitter all over them too. If you look carefully you can see the glitter on the hat.

Then Brianna's little leprechaun. Don't you love how they are all different. So cute!
