Moonlight Run 2012!

So I decided to try the Moonlight run again. If you remember last time I did it was in 2009, after I had DJ. I didn't run, but walked the whole thing. This time I was determined to run it, or I should say jog it! Renee agreed to do it with me. We have been working out together twice a week. We go to zumba on Tues and Thurs and MAN is it a good work out. We dance our butts off for an hour. So much fun, but a really good work out too! I love my zumba days!! ha ha!

I didn't prepare for the run at all, not counting my zumba workouts! So Saturday came along and I was ready to go. Renee and Theron came and picked me up. Theron had decided to do it with us too! We got there and got ready to go. It was so packed, so many people. I was supposed to find my sister, Shelley there. But I looked around and had no clue how to even start. Then all of the sudden some one hit me on my back, and there was Shelley! It was fun to see her. When we started she was in front of us. We tried to squeeze our way up beside her but it was so crowded. I didn't see it at all the rest of the run. But later she told me she saw me a few times.
Me, Renee and Theron ready to go run our race!

Oh yeah we are ready to do this!! ha ha!

Anyways, the gun went off and away we went. It was so packed that it took a minute for us to be able to start running. Then we were off. I had went through my MP3 player and cleaned it up. Got rid of a bunch of songs, and added some more good ones. So I had that going. Renee and I decided to stick together. Theron went ahead of us at first, but we passed him later on. We had a good pace going and just kept it up. I was shocked at how much fun I was having! We grabbed some water and had a quick drink and then kept going. We got to the BIG hill and the song, "Breaking Dishes", came on. If you do zumba you know what that means. It's an awesome song that we do a major arm work out. So it was perfect timing with the hill. I was determined to run up the hill. Away I went. I assumed that Renee was right beside me. But when I looked it wasn't her. I turned around and she was way back, waving me on. So I kept on going. I stopped once to tie up my shoe, but then kept slowing running up the hill. That's the only part of the 6kms that about killed me. But I made it to the top and there was my mom and dad standing there cheering! That gave me the extra boost I needed and I took off running to the end. I sprinted and passed like 10 people!! It was a great run! I ran it in 45mins and 55seconds. I was pretty proud of that time.

It was a lot of fun! I guess I came in about a minute or two after Shelley. I walked back towards where I saw mom and dad and ran into Shelley. We walked back to them together. I felt like I was on such a high after finishing the race! It was a great feeling. Oh yeah, and we couldn't of asked for better weather. It was so nice out. Just a little chilly but not bad and the crazy wind we had earlier that day had died down. So it was perfect!

We've decided to do another race soon. We are looking at the different ones coming up and we'll decide which on we will do. I am excited. It makes me realize that these zumba workouts are really working. So I will keep it up!

What's Up With My Kids!!

I always love to record some of the things my kids have been up too and saying. Sometimes they just crack me up the things they come up with! A couple of weeks ago we were eating and talking about Uncle David coming home from his mission. The girls were all excited and were talking at once. Richard then said, "I bet you guys don't even remember what Uncle David looks like." Well Brianna looked right at her dad and said, " I remember dad, he's black and white with a tag on." Richard then replied, "No I mean his face." Brianna said right back, "Well it's skin color dad." It was hilarious! So funny, what made it even funnier was she was totally serious!

After church one Sunday we were all sitting down eating dinner. DJ was being very grumpy and didn't want his sister sitting beside him. So he pushed his chair as far away from Brianna as possible. Then he decided it wasn't far enough, so he got up and it looked like he was going to spit on her. Richard was quick and put his hand out so DJ walked right into Richard's hand. Well that made DJ so mad. I told DJ that we don't spit. He plopped down on his chair with his arms folded and his famous mad face, with his lip sticking out. He was huffing away too. He looked over and me and glared and then looked over to his dad and glared and looked back at me. Then he sat there and stuck his tongue out just a tiny bit and blew a raspberry and then looked at me again. I seriously had to bite my tongue so I wouldn't laugh. It was so funny. I put him in time out, just to follow through with what we said, but oh was he mad. It was pretty funny! Crazy boy, pushing the limits already! He was just grumpy and tired and probably hungry too, but refusing to eat! Sheesh, love Sunday evenings! We always have to fight to keep him awake so he goes to bed at a decent time!

DJ is getting better and better at using his words and talking to us. I was doing Abbi's hair at the table while she was eating breakfast one morning (we were late for school). DJ looked at her and started laughing and pointed at Abbi and said, "Abbi a horse! Abbi funny (sounds like he says bunny though)!" We all laughed it was so funny. I was doing Abbi's hair in two pig tails. Another funny thing about DJ is lately whenever anything is dirty, like his pants, coat or blankets he blames it on Macy. He'll look at the thing that is dirty and tell me, "Yuck, Mace poop!" Everything is Macy's poop! It makes me laugh!

Abbi came running to me one day laughing. She told me that they were watching a cooking show with dad on the computer, when Cadence said, "That man looks like our tutor." Then Abbi said, really loud, "It crapped dad up!" Ha ha ha ha! So funny. She meant to say cracked. Too funny. We were having FHE one Monday night and Richard asked the kids what charity is. Abbi replied, "They are grapes." When Richard said no, she replied, "Oh it is a chair." Ha ha ha. She cracks me up! Hopefully they know what charity is now.

Cadence has been working on her S sound at school for speech. So she has been kind of obsessed with snakes. Because they call the S sound the snake sound. I hear her playing and she always is making her snake sound and saying a snake is going to get them (her sisters). I didn't pay any attention to it till she woke up at 2:30am one morning freaking out that the snakes were getting her. She was terrified. I had her lay between Richard and I and all of the sudden she was almost sitting on my head with her legs pulled up to her chest and she was swiping my bed with her hand. I looked at her and asked what was wrong. She had a terrified look on her face and she kept saying there's snakes everywhere. The poor girl was dreaming that everything was snakes. My hair touched her face and it freaked her out. We tried everything to get her to snap out of it but nothing was working. Richard gave her a blessing which helped calm her down and she finally went back to sleep. By then it was 4am. I layed backed down when I heard stomping feet coming down the hallway. It was DJ. Anyways I tucked him back in bed and layed down with him and we both must of zonked because the next thing I remember is waking up in his bed and it was 8:15am. Oooppps!! Everyone was still sleeping and we were suppose to be out the door by 8:25am for school. Well that wasn't happening. I swear this daylight savings is killing us! We had the hardest time getting to school on time this past week! Oh well. I called and excused the girls. It was a Friday anyways, which they only go for 2hrs. So that was our exciting thing with Cadence. I still hear her talking about snakes and have to remind her that they aren't real. She has a hard time winding down at night and going to sleep. Her brain just keeps her thinking of everything. Poor girl. Hopefully it will get better.

Well there are a few random things that my kids have been up too. I like writing things down, because it's fun to come back and read them and remember.

David Is Home!!

Last Wednesday on March 7, David came home from his mission. To say that my kids were excited is an understatement. The girls were so excited. They woke up Wednesday morning so excited. When I told them to get ready for school all their faces fell! It was so funny! They thought they were skipping school. I explained to them that he wasn't flying in until after supper time.

We took off for Calgary around 3pm. Richard got off work early and came too. We got to Cody and Em's house just in time for supper. Yeah! We all ate and the kids ran around like crazy and had fun. Mom checked the Internet for his flight number. They kept pushing it back. It was suppose to land at 8pm. But got pushed back to 9:15pm. We got to the airport around 8:45pm. The kids were so excited and they were all running around like crazy. We let them explore and check different things out. They were a LITTLE crazy!! We got a few looks. Especially when Cody and I were watching all our kids. Someone asked us if they were all ours!! Ha ha!! I guess it would look crazy, six kids 6 and under. Too fun!
So here is DJ, Brianna, Mary, Ali, Cadence and Abbi by the horses in the airport!

I thought this picture was hilarious, because Mary was trying to put her arm around DJ like the older girls were doing and DJ was having nothing to do with it!! He is definitely out numbered!!

Aunt Emily gave everyone a penny to throw into the fountain. They all thought that it was the greatest thing ever!

Abbi and Brianna showing us their climbing skills!

Cadence climbed to the top and was showing me how she can balance!

DJ climbed up too but wasn't too sure about standing there, but he did it!

We got all the kids rounded up and sat them on the ledge in front of the doors that David would be coming out. They all sat up their and were all holding or helping to hold signs. Again, they got lots of looks and lots of people saying hi to them. The girls would yell, "Oh there's a missionary (any random guy in a suite), oh that's not uncle David!" It was pretty funny. But then David came walking through the doors. It was so fun to see him again.
Cute kids all ready for their Uncle David to come home!

Here's my four kids with the sign that they colored all by themselves! They did a great job!

All the kids ran up to hug him and say hi. Then we all got a turn to give him a big hug. It was exciting to see David. He still David, but looks older! We always teased him that he looked like a 16 year old when he left on him mission. But he definitely looks his age now! ha ha!
Elder Paxman made it home! The four girls wanted to be right there beside him!

We had to get a brother picture. So there's (l-r) Brent, Cody, David and Cam!

It was fun to visit and see him. Even though we weren't at the airport that long once he got there. It was cold outside, with the wind, so Brent and Richard ran and got the vehicles. Then we gave him another hug goodbye and got our family into the suburban. By this time it was 10pm. Way pass everyones bed time. So as Richard is slowly getting out of the airport parking lot, I was in the back getting all the kids into their jammies. Then I got them in their seat belts and made each of them a comfy bed to lean up against, so they could go to sleep. Luckily it didn't take them very long to all fall asleep. I fell asleep too, I was exhausted! Once we got to Claresholm, we all stopped and then I drove the rest of the way home. We got home just before 1am. It was a late night, but well worth it!

I had decided the day before that I wouldn't wake up my girls for school. I would take them once they woke up by themselves. I already talked to their teachers so they knew. They all woke up around 8:30am. By the time I got them to the school it was around 9:15am. Oh I should say I got to the school and got everyone out and Cadence was like, "Where's my back pack." So we all got back in and went and got it. It had her snack in it, so she needed it. I walked them in and realized it was Thursday and they needed to take their library books back. So me and DJ ran home to get their books. I was looking everywhere and finally found them under the bunk beds. I slithered on my tummy all the way to the back to get them. I was pushing myself back and went to stand up and whacked my head so hard, I saw stars! I wasn't quite out yet. Ouch! What I don't do for my kids! So we then ran the books back to the school. Then DJ and I went to Parent Pre

Wow, I kind of went off there. Anyways Thursday afternoon we went over to my parents and visited with David for a bit. It sure is fun to have him home. The girls love it! That night as they were saying prayers one of them blessed Uncle David on his mission and the other girls giggled about it! It was very cute! WELCOME HOME DAVID!!!
