Our Fun Easter 2014!

To start out with our fun Easter happenings we dyed eggs. We were going to do it Monday night, but the eggs were still warm. So I promised them that we would do it Tuesday night. So I had things all ready and that's what we did.

On Friday, the kids and I had to get some flowers in Lethbridge to bring to Cardston (we were all ready in Lethbridge). It was for Richard's grandparent's 60th Anniversary. So the kids and I went to Cardston to help set things up. We were there for a few hours. The kids did awesome. They were all huge helps. It made things go by really fast. Then we went over to Shelly and Eric's for some pizza.

Declan and DJ were giving us a puppet show with their socks!!

Everything ready for the party. It looked so pretty!

Then on Saturday we went to their 60th Wedding Anniversary dinner. My kids were so excited to go! We got there and it was fun to visit with everyone. They had a really good turn out. Plus the dinner was absolutely delicious! My kids had so much fun playing with their cousins. We found out that the great grandkids were to sing a song in the program. I had them sing, "Families Can Be Together Forever" and "Jesus Wants Me To Be a Sunbeam". I have really shy kids, and they know both songs, but they sing really softly if at all! Ha ha! We had some really good singers up there. Kay was awesome and belted out the songs! The Sunbeam song was a big hit, all the kids love singing that song! It was a fun day. After the dinner we all stayed around and helped clean up. Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Spencer's house. Everyone was there. It was a full house. It was nice outside too. The kids got to go on a Easter hunt and they each got an envelope with a chocolate and a $5 bill. Great Grandma Spencer sure spoils her grandkids! It was fun!

My parents and Megan flew to BC to be with Stacey and her family for Easter. So no Easter dinner with my family. But I decided to invite everyone else over to our house on Sunday and we all brought something for a yummy Easter dinner. It worked out perfectly.

Oh I should mention that Sunday morning we woke up and the kids were super excited to go find their Easter baskets and all the Easter eggs. It was pretty low key. They all found their baskets and then they sat down and started going through it. Then we all got ready for church.
Abbi showing us her Easter basket. She was very happy to find a new bat in her basket too!

DJ excited about finding his basket!

Cadence got a new movie in her basket. She wasn't feeling too hot, that's why there was a bowl beside her. Her and DJ were throwing up through the night. But then they were fine by morning. Sheesh!

Brianna so excited about her new soccer ball in her basket.

Everyone came to our house at about 2:30pm. We sat down and ate at 3pm. I cooked a ham and had some dinner buns. Then everyone else brought the rest. It wasn't anything fancy but it turned out good. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins. It was just my kids and Cody's  and Brent's kids here. Cam didn't have his kids for the weekend. We talked and laughed and had a good time. Then we sent the guys out to our farm to hide some chocolate eggs. Then we came about 5 minutes later with all the kids. We brought our Easter eggs to roll down the hill too.

That was a huge hit. Eggs were flying everywhere, literally! Cadence almost hit someone in the back of the head. it was pretty funny. Then the kids realized that they could run down the hill and find some eggs still together. Then they started throwing them again. Then Uncle Cody showed them how they can take the yolk out and throw that. It was a big egg mess!! Ha ha! Lots of fun!
Our big group, throwing eggs down the hill.

It got a little crazy!

This is where Uncle Cody was throwing the egg yolks back up at the kids.

So the kids started look for egg yolks to throw back!

Then we walked down to the creek to throw some rocks into the water. The kids were excited about that too. Evan was super excited and couldn't stop running and throwing. He was running too fast and couldn't stop in time before he hit the water, then he ended falling on his bum. It was pretty funny. He was covered in mud and cow poop. But it didn't bother him at all. He was more worried that he lost his rock. He kept yelling, "More rock, more rock." He was hilarious!

We then told the kids that there were chocolate eggs hidden up top by the bales. So they all started running back up the hill. They were running everywhere. All the kids had so much fun finding the eggs. The guys told me that they just stood and threw the eggs everywhere! Ha ha! We all had a blast. It was a little windy out but other then that it was sunny out.
Hilarious picture of DJ finding his first egg. So cute!

Then we came back to the house for some dessert that Jill brought. It was very delicious. It was a fun Easter Sunday. So happy that we were able to all get together.

Reading your post brought back good memories of jumping on hay bales at your house when I was growing up. Your kids are getting so big. It would be fun to get together, I will let you know the next time we come up. Are you super busy getting ready to move?
