Canada Day!

On Friday, July 1, was Canada Day! My kids were counting down the days till then. It was funny. They were so excited to go to the Raymond Parade! I remember being excited for the parade when I was a kid! It was kind of a crazy week last week. Richard has been putting in some crazy, long hours for work. Since he is gone this week for the Helaman's Encampment (a whole week!)! So we are sure missing him! Anyways, I was pretty busy with keeping the kids happy and busy and trying to keep my house clean.

So anyways, back to Canada Day. The big day came up and I was planning on having the kids without Richard. But it just so happened that he hurt himself Thursday and I made him go to the hospital and he got stitches. He sliced himself just above his ankle. You have to know that Richard NEVER hurts himself. Really, he doesn't. He's very careful. So when he came home with stitches I was a little shocked! It's usually me that is getting hurt all the time! Well he decided not to go do the yucky digging he was planning on Friday. He thought it would be better to keep the stitches clean. YEAH for stitches! Ha ha ha! But it was so nice to have him with us all day long. We loved it!

We got to Raymond around 10am. Yeah for having family that already staked out and saved our spots a couple of days before hand. My cousin just bought a house on the parade route so that's where we went. We set up our chairs and waited for the parade. The kids were dancing around singing, "The parade is coming.", over and over!

Brianna, Cadence, Abbi and Cassi waiting for the parade. Not sure what Cassi was doing with the plastic bag, but we did make her take it off her head!

My cute girls waiting! Cadence HAD to buy this flag in Walmart and she didn`t let go of it the whole time. Even when she was running and grabbing candy!
It came and they were so good at waving at everyone and yelling, "HI"! They figured out that the louder they yelled, the more candy they got thrown at them! So Uncle Cody was very good at saying, "Ok kids on 3 yell HI, 1, 2, 3....HI!" They all listened to Uncle Cody and had a blast doing it! Of course the crazy Stirling haunted house float scared the living daylights out of Cadence. She saw them and came and hid her face in my shoulder until they passed. I kept telling her that it wasn't real, that they were people dressed up. She didn't scream her head off like last year, so that's good!

Running after candy. Even Cadence got into it and getting the candy!

My girls running for candy!

DJ enjoyed watching the parade sitting on his dad`s lap!

All the kids hd to come pet these HUGE dogs!

After the parade we all went out to mom and dad's. We had a get together with the Paxman family. We do this almost every year and it's fun to see cousins that I haven't seen in a year! So we had fun eating and visiting. My cousin, Mark and I had fun catching up! We were inseparable when we were growing up. Did everything together. We were laughing that his youngest has bright red hair and I have 2 with bright red hair. Who would of thunk! Anyways, it was fun. I should of taken pictures but was too busy visiting so no pictures of cousins. Oh well!

After everyone took off, my immediate family decided to take the boat out to St. Mary's. It wasn't the warmest day but we decided to give it a try. When we got there it was SO WINDY! Plus the water was crazy high. But, again the kids had fun running around in the sand and playing. We were there for just over an hour when a Park ranger guy came and asked us to leave! I guess the gates to Wally's beach were supposed to be closed but someone cut the chain. We had no idea, we just saw that they were open and drove our cars up there. He was very nice and explained that it was closed till they fix the roads (they were horrible). We could stay with the boat but the vehicles had to leave. So we decided to pack it up and go anyways. DJ had fallen asleep in mom's arms and we made a bed in the back of the Tahoe for him. He slept for about an hour. It took us a bit to pack everything and drive back to the docks to meet the boat.

Grandma and DJ chillin at the beach! He was one tired little boy!

Cadence relaxing and eating a snack on the tube.

Brent pushing the boat out. It was so windy out and there were white caps everywhere!

Brianna and Abbi having fun playing in the sand!

Then we went back to the farm to have a wiener roast. That was our yummy supper and the kids had fun helping! Then we had smores for dessert. Yummy! So it was a fun, busy day! I was trying to get the kids to stay up late but they were so tired. So we got home around 8:30pm and they all went to sleep. Except for DJ, he bounced around for awhile then went to sleep! But, all in all it was a very good day!
My girls jumping with their cousins, Chase! They had a blast playing with Chase all day long! He was such a trooper, keeping these little girls busy!

Richard and DJ shooting basketball together. Check out Richard`s new Ausie hat! ha ha! I had to laugh when I saw it!

Cousins playing together outside. They had fun playing this game (can`t remember the name of it), it kept them occupied for a while!
