Soccer and Baseball!

I mentioned that the kids are enjoying playing their sports. I thought I'd add a little more and put some pictures up too. Abbi is in her second year of coach pitch and is loving it. She really liked it last year too. Nobody else was interested in doing it with her. She was fine with that. So I put her in by herself. She is doing really good. She has so much fun. She's getting better with hitting the ball and catching it too. She's been able to catch a grounder that came towards her really fast and throw it to 2nd base and get the person out. It was fun to watch. I'm glad she has been having so much fun with it. She has a few friends doing it with her, Mia and Tessa. Mia has made it so entertaining to watch too! Ha ha! She's never played before but was catching on really fast. She's super competitive and was determined to get every player out, even if that means to throw the ball at their backs. Seriously, so funny. Nobody got hurt and she is starting to realize that its faster to throw the ball to the bases. I'm glad Abbi has been enjoying it!

Go Abbi go!! She's running to third!

Brianna has been loving soccer. She has been amazing me at how good she can play. They practise for 30mins and then play another team for 30mins. Her coach, Mike Woolfe, has been so good with the kids. He's got them playing forward and defense and getting them to understand the rules of the game. Brianna has amazed me at how much she has learned. She just takes off with the ball and can pass to a team mate and then run ahead to get a pass to her. She's even scored a few times too. So fun to watch. She's pretty good on defense, not afraid to run up and kick the ball away, or block it. Way to go Brianna!

Doing a team cheer!!

Then there's DJ with his soccer. At first he wasn't too sure about it. Then he started playing and has absolutely loved it. So fun to watch him learn and practise his moves. We've practised in our yard many times, running around everywhere with the ball. He's really good at kicking with the side of his foot. He will really get into a game and take off with the ball. Like I said before he is really big compared to everyone else, and it doesn't take much to knock them over. Ha ha! Poor DJ is always getting asked how old he is. Everyone is always so shocked when he says five!! He is a big boy! It's been fun watching him play!

Way to go DJ!! He`s had so much fun this year!
