LAST DAY IN HAWAII!!!!

Richard and I woke up pretty early. We were out of the house by 6am. It took us over an hour to get to our final hike. I can't remember the exact name of the hike. But it was a hike to the North point of the island. It wasn't a super hard hike but it was about 7 km hike one way. We started around 7:15am. And away we went!

It was a cool hike right along the shore line. We were hoping to see some sea lions but we didn't. That's ok tho! We did get a LOT of shells. That was the other main reason why we did the hike. It was awesome. So many shells! Cool ones too! We ended up going into a big gated area, so predators couldn't kill the protected birds there. The view was amazing and we were there all by ourselves. We loved it. So much fun! Oh at one point we were standing on some rocks and a wave hit and all of the sudden it looked like the whole side of the rock was moving. I kind of freaked out! We realized it was a bunch of crabs! Crazy!! Richard got close enough to take some pictures!

There's one of the big black crabs. They were all over the rocks. Give me the willies!!

And another crab.

Me with the ocean behind me! We were collecting shells and putting them in my bag.

Cool Abatras bird.

We made it to the point. Richard took this cool picture of me!

Even though it was just after 8am, I was so hot. It felt good to cool down!

Then we started walking back. By then I was starting to get tired. I felt like the hike was NEVER going to end. Seriously I was dying! So ready to be done! I started complaining to Richard and then we were there! Ha ha!! So tired!

These two birds had their nest right close to the path. I just zoomed in on it.

My awesome husband!

Love the ocean and the big blue sky together!

Us trying to get a cool picture by the ocean together. But my hair had other ideas! It was a little windy out! Ha ha!
Richard walking ahead of me. This was where I was so done! Luckily our car was just over the next rise! Yay!

We headed into Honolulu! That's where everyone was going. We were going to meet at the Swap and Meet. It's a HUGE flea market in the city. We stopped there so we could get souvenirs for our kids. We had gotten a few things for them through out the week but we were waiting for the swap and meet to get everything. We got them some shirts and the girls some purses, and DJ a hat. Plus we got cool bracelets for all of them. Plus a magnet and a few other goodies. I was excited to get them some stuff! We were walking and it was crazy hot outside! Plus I was so tired of walking! Ha ha! We met up with everyone and finished our shopping. Then decided to follow each other to go somewhere else. We had hours to waste before our flight. Well I guess Richard and I flew right by Mom and Dad and Megan and Chris. I was even looking! Ha ha! We decided to go to Pearl Harbour which was just 5 minutes away. So that's where Richard and I went.

We decided to tour the Submarine. We didn't see that last time. So we paid and went and got our audio tour guide. Then away we went! It was a really cool tour. So crazy to think that people actually lived down in a submarine like that. Crazy. I couldn't imagine. We really enjoyed our tour.

Here's one of the many tiny bathrooms.

Look at the squishy hallways!

This is the dining room.

And here's the bunk room. Crazy how many beds they fit in that tiny space.

Going back up the stairs.

Richard sitting on the gun.

Cool picture of the front of the sub and the harbour.

This was in the museum all about the submarine.

After that we called and figured out where the others were. Then we met up with them at the Aquarium. We decided to look through that and try to stay cool. It was a scorcher that day! We had fun seeing all the cool fish! By this time I was pretty wiped! And it was only 5:30pm. Oh boy, what else should we do! Our flight wasn't till 10:30pm.

We went to Costco and got some chocolates to take home, plus a cute skirt. Then we filled up with gas and went to Pier 39 to eat supper. The restaurant was called Nico's! It was delicious! Just what we needed before our long flight! By the time we finished eating it was time to make our way to the airport. So away we went.

We checked in and waited and then finally boarded our flight. I was so ready to be home by then. It was a long flight over night. I slept a bit, but it's so hard to sleep on a plane. We got to Vancouver at 7:30am. Then we had to hurry through security and go to our next gate to get our last flight. That was just a quick flight to Calgary. Which Richard and I slept the entire way! I was so tired! Then we were there! Yay! Got our bags and caught a shuttle to our vehicles. It sure was a fun trip!

We had promised our kids that we were going to be home when they got off the bus. We dropped Megan and Chris off in the pouring rain and then dropped mom and dad off. It was down pouring! We hurried home and made it about 5 minutes before the kids got off the bus. They were so excited to see us and we were so excited to see them. Lots of hugs and kisses. Then we gave them their gifts. So fun! Shelly had made soup and sandwiches for supper and the kids ate. I was beyond tired. So was Richard. I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. Richard fell asleep in bed. We slept for 4 hours. We woke up at 9pm. Ha ha! The kids thought it was funny that we slept so hard. I didn't hear a thing. We were so happy to be home. Had a blast on our trip but happy to be back with our kids!!
