Family Day Long Weekend!

We just got home late yesterday afternoon from our Family Day long weekend. It was so much fun. We took the kids and met up with my parents and Megan, and we went to Whitefish. We got a condo, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Spencer, right in Whitefish. It was perfect. The kids called it our "little house". The lady put us in a condo that was right by the pool. It was an outdoor pool but was heated. The kids loved every minute of swimming.

Anyways, we left Friday morning. Or I should say Megan and I left with the kids Friday morning. I had a dentist appointment in the afternoon I had to get too. I was getting a second opinion on getting an implant. Very interesting, the things you learn. The kids travelled great. We got to Kalispell and found a McDonalds with a playplace. We ate and let the kids run wild to get rid of some pent up energy. Then we went searching for the address and I went to my appointment. Thanks Megan for watching my kids in the waiting room. DJ screamed his head off for a few minutes but was then fine. I love the questions and comments I get about my kids. The lady said, "Wow, looks like you have your hands full, are they all yours (most common question ever)?" I replied yes they are. She then asked me how old the kids were. I told her the girls were 6 and DJ was 3. I could tell that it didn't click in her head what I meant. Because about 5 minutes later she asked me again if they were all mine. I then told her the girls are triplets and are 6 and my boy is 3. THEN it clicked. Too funny!

After my appointment we loaded up and headed to Whitefish. We had the name of the condo and knew what highway it was off but that was it. We drove around and we were about ready to give up when Megan yelled, THERE IT IS! I quickly took the corner and we made it! The kids were so excited. We unpacked and then made a grocery list and went and got some groceries and picked up a pizza on the way home for supper. We ate and then went swimming with the kids. By that time mom and dad and Richard showed up.

On Saturday the plan was to go skiing. We were going to let the girls have a little taste of skiing. We found out that they get free lift tickets if they are 6 and under. So that was perfect. We just rented a pair of boots and skis for one girl and we let them take turns through out the day. Abbi was the lucky one to go first. She wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing. I took her down the barney hill a few times, but then I was wiped. Because the crazy girl would lean right into me and go all flimsy when I was behind her so I was holding up all her weight. She was finally getting the hang of it but I was ready for a break already!! This was going to be harder then I first thought. Oh well, she had a blast and was ready to go in for a break too.
Abbi and I going down the barney hill, with Richard walking behind us (in the yellow jacket). Perfect example of how she was leaning back on me!

Abbi (purple coat) and I (white coat) going up the magic carpet. Richard walked up (yellow jacket) and beat us!

She's doing a bit better and not leaning on me!

Cadence was SO EXCITED to go next. We got her in the boots and walked out to the barney hill. Richard helped her snap into her skis. To go up the barney hill you had to go on the magic carpet. It was tricky to get her on because I couldn't go beside her. So each time we'd come up I'd have the worker help her on. I got on right behind her and when we got off, just as she was falling I'd come up behind her and lift her up. It worked perfect! I just put her between my skis and we went down. I told her she had to stand up on her own and I was just guiding her down. She did great. So I decided to take her over to the chair lift for the bunny hill. The magic carpet was so so so slow and I was tired by the time we'd get to the top (which wasn't very far). Then we'd be down the hill in 2 seconds (no joke). So I thought we'd do better going up higher so we could practice turning and snow plowing, which I called "make a pizza slice". I'd yell, "Make a pizza" and they would! I was a little worried about Cadence going up the chair lift, but she was very excited. We got on and started up and I could tell she was excited but a little nervous. I was a little nervous about getting off the chair lift! Half way up we saw Megan and Richard snowboarding down and Cadence yelled "Hi Daddy!" He looked up and waved. She was really excited about that. Well we got to the top and got off the chair lift with no mishaps. I put her between my legs and away we went. She LOVED it! We were going down and heard someone yell, "HI CADENCE AND JANAEyeller was my sister Shelley and her husband Travis. So that was fun to meet up with them!
Cute Cadence all ready to go skiing!

Cadence was so excited to go on the chair lift, or as she would say, "the lifter thing"!
Cadence and I riding up on the chair lift.

Cadence really wanted me to take a picture of our skis. So we both lifted them up and here you go!

After everyone had lunch Cadence wanted to go back out, but it was Brianna's turn. So we switched gear and away we went. I went down the barney hill once with Brianna, just to give her a taste. But then we went straight to the Bunny Hill. There was no waiting and I thought it was much better. She also loved going up the chair lift. She was all smiles. Brianna surprised me with the skiing. She had real good control over her skis. She could do the pizza really good. I felt confident enough in her that I went down aways then told her to come. She started coming down and I yelled PIZZA and she did the snow plow. I then caught her. She did really good. But then she looked up at me and said, "Mom I just want to go between your skis." Well ok, can't argue with that. We went down the bunny hill a few times. She was so happy and would wave and say hi to everyone on the chair lift. It was so cute. People would yell hi back. Made her day!
Me and Brianna skiing together!

Going up on the chair lift!

Brianna was one happy little girl! She had so much fun!

It started snowing, big, fat, fluffy flakes! Grandpa helping Brianna back to the lodge.

After they all got a turn they all wanted to go again. So I took them one at a time again. They had so much fun. I finally took Abbi again and she wanted to go on the chair lift. I told her the only way we could do that was if she stood up on her own. She promised me that she would. So I took her up on the chair lift. She did really good. She kept asking me if she was doing ok! I took her up twice. By this time, my legs were burning, from snow plowing so much. The girls wanted to go one more time. So I took Cadence up again. Well we got to the top and she forgot to stand up and I wasn't quick enough in pulling her off the chair lift. I did pull her but the edge of the chair knocked her over. It hit her in the arm. I got her up and out of the way. It scared her. We sat up there until she said she was ready to go down. I started down with her and we went a different way. She totally freaked out on me. Cadence went all day with out freaking out. But I think because she got hurt, she was a little up tight and not ready for change. I should of gone the same way. I kept telling her it's ok Cadence. But she kept screaming, "YOUR GOING THE WRONG WAY!" I stopped and talked to her and showed her where we were and how it met up with the other way we went. Then she was fine. But she was done after that. I was too. I took Brianna one more time and then I was done. Totally done! They had a blast though!
Cute Abbi ready to go up the bunny hill.

Abbi was so cute on the chair lift. She kept saying, "Oh mom my tummy is so nervous. It's so so nervous. My heart is so nervous too." She cracks me up!

Me and Abbi going up the chair lift!

Cadence sitting at the top of the hill. This was after her little crash off the chair lift. She told me she was ready to go down. Maybe we should of waited a little bit longer! Oh well, we made it!

I forgot to mention that DJ hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Paxman in the lodge. Then later his dad too! They took him for walks outside and he played at the table with his cars and trucks. He was doing good till I would come in for a rest, then he'd cry and want to be with me. I thought about putting him in the skis but decided he would probably just freak out! So we didn't!
DJ goes into his own little world while he plays with his trucks and cars. So cute to watch!

He finally noticed me taking pictures and gave me a big smile!

I guess I wasn't totally done because I stayed and skiied with Megan, Shelley and Travis for another 1 1/2hrs. I wanted to ski more then just the bunny hill. So we did a few different runs. We had a lot of fun. It really was a fun day! The girls talked about it a lot too. They loved it!
Here comes Megan down the hill.

Here comes Shelley, not sure what that kid is doing beside her, looks like he's having troubles! I sped down fast to get some pictures of everyone!

We met up with Richard and the kids and my parents back at the condo. Richard and the kids were swimming. Megan and I went and got our swim suits on and came and joined them. The hot tub felt so good! We relaxed and just had fun. Then we went out for dinner at Applebees. By this time I think DJ was done for the day! He was being a little grumpy. He went to sleep pretty good that night.
All my kids soaking in the hot tub with Aunt Megan! It was a huge hot tub, which made it nice!

Sunday morning we had a really grumpy DJ on our hands. We went to church at 10am and just hit sacrament meeting. Then we went back to the condo and ate lunch. Richard and I took the kids swimming, then we decided to go find a playplace at a McDonalds. Seriously, they had so much energy. I was hoping that DJ would fall asleep, but he didn't. We found a playplace and they ran around like mad. Richard and I sat there and watched. It last just under an hour because DJ came to me and I went to run him to the bathroom but we were too late. He peed his pants. Poor kid, wanted his pants off right then. He hardly ever has an accident, but he was too busy having fun. So we got the girls and went back. Well DJ lasted all of 30 seconds before he fell asleep. Crazy kid. He slept for about an hour. Just in time to wake up and have dinner with us. But he was so grumpy. Screaming and crying over everything. We finally (Richard and I ) got him to settle down and Richard fed him his dinner while I sat beside him. After that he was fine. He wanted to go outside for a walk. So my dad took some of the kids and they went for a walk. They came back to get toques and gloves and went for a longer walk and made a snow man. I then joined them and we went for another walk. DJ was very happy the whole time. Moody kid!
Grandpa Paxman, DJ and Abbi showing off their cute little snow man!

DJ decided to give it a hug and kiss!

Abbi was giving it a hug, when DJ decided it was time to stomp it!
Abbi and DJ smashing their little snow man!

Megan, Brianna, Cadence, Abbi and Grandpa cuddling on the couch eating popcorn and watching a movie!

The girls were exhausted Sunday night and went to bed very good. Richard, Megan and I all went and soaked in the hot tub after we put the kids down. DJ was watching movies on the bed with Grandma, since he had a nap. Then we sat down and played Settlers of Catan. My mom was stuck in a book, so she read while she layed on the bed beside DJ who was trying to go to sleep. He finally fell asleep around 10pm. Sheesh!

Monday morning we were woken up at about 7:15am by a screaming DJ. He probably screamed for about an hour, well it felt like that long. I'm so sorry Megan and my parents, he's usually not like that. Not sure what was going on with that boy. He was acting miserable that day. The only time he was happy was when he started helping his dad load up the suburban. He was in heaven lugging everything out to his dad. So cute to watch. Then when he was done with that, he helped his Grandpa. We all went into Kalispell to do some shopping. I didn't get everything I wanted, but that's ok. We got DJ some more jeans, since he was starting to wear his sisters jeans (jeans is all he will wear). The girls each got a pair of pants too. We got a few other things, nothing too big. Then we ate lunch at McDonalds and headed home after everyone had a potty break. DJ slept most of the way home. It's what he needed. Crazy boy! It was a very fun long weekend. I'm glad we went.

Valentines Day!

We all slept in on Valentines Day. I think it was because we got home so late from the family dance. I woke up at 7:30am and everyone was still sleeping. So I started to get breakfast ready and got the kids valentines gift ready. I got them each a heart mug for their hot chocolate. I made them heart pancakes for breakfast. They came upstairs and were surprised and excited to see their breakfast. It was cute.
My three cute girls eating their Valentines breakfast!

We got them ready for school and girls took off. DJ had speech that morning and we went to do that. He was excited to give GiGi her valentines gift. He's doing so good with his speech. I've seen a huge improvement. I just have to always remind him to use his words instead of screaming or yelling when he gets frustrated.

The girls came home from school and we had lunch. The girls were invited to Micah's birthday party at 1pm. They were very excited to go to his birthday party. So we got them ready and dropped them off. DJ was so mad that he couldn't go. We got home and I asked if he wanted to play outside. It had snowed that night, so we had a bunch of nice fluffy snow on the ground. It was beautiful out, not cold at all and no wind. So it was perfect to play outside in the snow. We both got our snow pants on and glove and toques and went out and played. We were out there for 1 1/2hrs. He had a blast and just wanted to keep playing. The sun was so bright though, that we both had to put on some sunglasses so we could actually see anything! It was so fun to play with my boy. We both had a blast. It was a fun way to pass the afternoon by ourselves.
DJ loved driving his trucks around and filling them up with snow.

DJ and I playing in the snow!

He had so much fun with his trucks. He insisted on me driving one around too. So I did! It was fun!

Just before we went back inside we both got on the tramp and jumped around for a bit!

The girls got home just after DJ and I came in and had hot chocolate. They were excited to tell us what they did at the party. I had decided to make heart pizzas for supper again. We did it last year for Valentines Day and it was a huge hit. So the kids helped me make the pizzas. Richard came home and gave me flowers for valentines day. So I put them in the middle of the table and gave everyone clear glasses and poured red pop in them. The girls got heart straws, so we used those. Then I put the chips in a red bowl. The kids came to sit down and the girls were all excited. They kept saying, "Mom did you make us a party for supper?" It was so funny! It wasn't that fancy but they loved it! So that was our Valentines Day supper. It was yummy and a fun supper.
There's our yummy heart pizzas just out of the oven.

Everyone sitting down for our Valentines Day supper. They were so excited!

Oh I forgot to mention that for the girls snack for school I had put in a heart stuffy in their snack bags. They came home all excited about it. Richard gave DJ his valentines stuffy which was a puppy with a heart around his neck. All the kids loved it. So fun that they are so easy to please. It was a fun day!

Family Dance!

Magrath Elementary School has a fun tradition every year where they have a family dance. Each grade from pre-school on, put on a dance for everyone to watch. My girls were very excited about it. The dance was yesterday, Monday, Feb 13, 2012. It was kind of a crazy day. First off Cadence was the "Cookie of the week" and she had to bring in her poster that we did all of her. I don't know why I named my kids A, B, and C. Not very smart because I ended up doing 3 cookies of the week almost in a row. I did have one week of a break. Anyways, this is the last week and then I'm done!! So we had to get Cadence to school with her huge poster and a show and tell.

I had to bake cookies for the Family Dance and run it to the school before 3:00pm. I barely made it! Then the girls had their dance lessons at 3:45pm. We ran them there and me and DJ picked up the house quickly and then it was time to go pick the girls up. I made supper and then got the girls ready for the family dance. I re-did their hair, which Abbi was not too impressed about! Richard got home and hurried to change then we took off for the school.

We got there 20 minutes early and it was still crazy in there. We got our seats and saved some for mine and Richard's parents and his grandparents. They got there and then the program started. They started off with the pre-school kids first. It's always so fun to watch the kids do their dances. Even DJ had fun sitting there and watching.
DJ had fun watching. He insisted on wearing his cowboy hats and boots!

He was being a goof and when he realized I was trying to take his picture he layed down on the bench!!

They then called all the kindergarten kids up. The girls ran down to the gym floor and lined up with their class. I should of told them to stick together. But they were spread out. Just makes it harder to take a video of all of them and pictures. Oh well!! They did super good. It was so cute to watch. The girls had been practising at home alot. Their dance was called the funky dance.
Brianna and Cadence ready to start dancing!

Abbi doing the "funky dance"!

Cadence loved the part where they had to stomp their foot. I think their teachers told them to stomp really hard and she took that to heart! She'd get a look on her face and stomp so hard. It was so cute!

Brianna just danced her little heart out. She's very good at following her teachers!

Abbi loved the dance and got into it too! So fun to watch!

We stayed for the rest of the dances and then we took off for home. By the time the kids got into bed it was pretty late for them. They had so much fun though. It was a fun time!

Close Call!

Last Monday we had a very scary experience. For dinner Richard decided to try out our new electric smoker that he bought. So he put in a roast and some potatoes. He left it in the garage but ended up moving the smoker outside, because it had made our house all smokey. Go figure!! Anyways, we had supper and it was delicious. I asked the girls to go downstairs and clean up while I cleaned up supper. The house still had a smokey smell too it, but I wasn't worried about it.

All of the sudden I heard Brianna yelling and she ran up the stairs crying and yelling, "Mom, our cardboard in the garage is burning and we want to color on it." I was so confused. She was so upset, so I yelled down to Richard to come up. We came to the garage door and opened it and was shocked to see flames almost hitting the ceiling in our garage. Richard yelled for me to call 911. I grabbed all the kids and we ran upstairs. I called 911 and told them we needed a fire truck. By this time the kids were all yelling and a little scared. The operator asked me where I was and I told her we were upstairs, she then told me to get out of the house. Duh!! Not sure what I was thinking. So I opened the front door and was pushing all the kids outside. They were all in the jammies and bare feet. By this time DJ was in hysterics and the girls weren't sure what to do. We ran around to the suburban and I put them in. I was going to back it down the driveway away from the garage, but realized my keys and purse were in the bootroom. I think our neighbours saw me pushing my screaming kids out the door and they ran over to see what was wrong.

By this time Richard had grabbed a hose and had run around the outside of the house to hook it up. He then opened the other garage door and was spraying the flames. The operator was yelling at me to get my husband out of there. I was watching Richard and could see he wasn't in immediate danger and almost had the fire out. But she kept yelling at me and told me she wasn't dispatching the fire department till he was out. So I yelled, "Richard get out of the garage." He looked over at me with a funny look on his face, while I then said into the phone, "OK he's out." Yup, I lied. |About 2mins later the fire department arrived. By this time Richard had the fire under control. But they came and made sure everything was out. They then helped him determine what had started it. Usually we park our suburban in the garage but, because of everything we bought on the weekend we had left it outside. There was a lot of empty cardboard boxes, big ones, and Richard had smashed them all and stuffed them into the biggest box. It was sitting in the middle of the garage. He had set his charger on top of the cardboard box and had put his drill battery in to recharge. They think that it had gotten too hot and started the fire. Everything happened so fast that at the time I wasn't too scared, just shocked. But once we all got back in the house, I started shaking and was freaking myself out by thinking of everything that could of happened.

We were so blessed that nothing was damaged. The only thing that burned was all the cardboard boxes, and they were all empty. The walls didn't have any damage either. The girls were the ones that realized there was a fire. They were cleaning up the basement and saw smoke coming through the garage door. They opened the door and saw the flames and ran up and told me. I realized then that we need to sit down and have a talk about fire and fire drills. Luckily nothing bad happened. I feel really blessed. I just couldn't sleep that night. I kept waking up and making sure I couldn't smell smoke. I was very freaked out.

Oh to make that night even better, after we all got back in the house the kids wanted to go ahead and make the mini donuts that we were planning on making. DJ was still very freaked out and didn't want me to set him down. So I sat him on the cupboard. I forgot that  I had plugged in the donut maker (electric, like a waffle iron), and his leg touched the edge of it. It burnt it so bad. The skin peeled off right away. Some of the volunteer firemen were still here and gave me some stuff for burns. I put it on his leg and covered it with dressing. It looks much better now, but I felt so bad. The poor little guy was crying and just wanted to cuddle on his bed. He fell asleep like that. I felt horrible. The next morning he kept telling me he had a big ouie, but it was all better! Good thing kids are so resilient. I still felt bad though.

So that was our very close call. We were so lucky that we had caught it right away or we would be without a house. Plus I was so thankful that Richard was home when it happened or else we would be without a house, because I had no clue where he had put away the hoses. Anyways, luckily everything is ok and we can learn from that experience. We are having a electrician come over to our house and wire a smoke detector into our garage and hook it up to our house one, so it will go off next time. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but better to be prepared then sorry.

Wow, 11 Years!

Here we are 11 years ago on Feb 3, 2001.
Richard and I celebrated our 11th year anniversary last weekend on Feb 3. So crazy to think that we've been married that long! We decided to get away again. His parents watched Abbi and Brianna and my parents watched DJ and Cadence. We took off Friday afternoon. The kids were excited to have sleep overs at their grandma and grandpa's houses! I was excited to get away and have time with my hubby!

We stayed at Meadow Lake, thanks to Grandma Spencer. Thank you so much. It was perfect. We had a condo and we loved it. I love making our own breakfast and we even tried a different kind of dinner too. Anyways the plan that weekend was to go skiing on Saturday. But we got there and it was nice to just relax and do nothing. We decided not too! We didn't exactly do nothing, we did have some shopping to do. I didn't buy one stitch of clothing though, we bought stuff for our house.

Saturday morning we had a yummy breakfast and relaxed and watched a movie. Then we took off and did some errands for other people and some shopping. We had bought some lobster tails and had decided to cook those for dinner that night. It didn't turn out too well though. We've never cooked them before and when we went to eat them they weren't done. So we cooked them a little bit longer and I think we over cooked them. Oh well! We tryed! We soaked in the hot tub and watched another movie that night.

Sunday morning we woke up and ate breakfast and packed up. Before we left we went to the spa, where we had booked his and her massages. It was SO NICE!!!! We got to lay side by side and we got our back, neck and shoulders massaged. It was heaven! Then we took off for home. It was the perfect weekend away. So nice and relaxing! Loved it!

So that was our nice 11th anniversary. Nothing really fancy but we both enjoyed the time together. Seems like life gets so crazy busy, that it's nice to get away once in a while. The kids all had a blast with their grandparents. Abbi and Brianna were ready to spend another night instead of coming home with us! So funny! Thanks to both our parents for being so awesome and watching our kids.

It seems like Richard and I have always been together and I couldn't imagine life without him. I have an amazing husband who is such a hard worker. We always talked about starting our own business, but it was always a little bit scary to think about too. So when the opportunity kind of dropped in our laps we just did it. He's been amazing and has worked so hard to get the business going. Things have gone great. We're learning along the way too. Richard always seems to know when I need a little "break", or just to go for a drive by myself. There are those days that I feel like just sitting down and eating a bunch of chocolate (I am seriously a chocoholic). He seems to know when I'm having one of those days and brings me some yummy chocolate to eat! I always just laugh and ask him how he knew!

We were talking about our time together, and we're laughing about how we scare each other. It's usually Richard scaring me, and half the time he doesn't even try. I am a little jumpy. Once I got so tired of being scared that I decided to get Richard. I hid in our closet and waited for him to come in our bedroom. I hid there for a while, but I wasn't giving up. I heard him come in and just as he was passing the closet I jumped out and roared. He jumped so high and yelped. I was so happy, I actually scared him. He turned around and was so mad at me. I was a little confused why he was mad. He then said, "You don't scare someone when they're cleaning their ears out." He then held up his hand, which was holding a Q-tip. When I scared him he jammed it into his ear, hence the yelp! And here I thought I scared him so bad!! We laugh about it all the time now! Another time I was turning the lights off in the kitchen and coming up to bed. I flipped on the hallway light and all of the sudden it went out. I flipped the light switch up and down and there was nothing. I assumed that the light burnt out so I walked up in the dark to go tell Richard. I decided to go check on the girls before I went to bed (they were around 1yrs old). I turned down the hall and Richard grabbed my arm and said, "boo". It scared me so bad that I started screaming LOUD. So loud, in fact, that I ended up scaring Richard and he started screaming. No joke. Then once I got over being scared to death I started laughing so hard at him. It was the funniest thing ever. He still talks about how bad I scared him!! It was pretty funny!

So there are a few funny stories about Richard and I scaring each other. It's been a good 11 years. I was explaining to my girls about our anniversary. It was really funny, because they were so confused. They looked at me and one of them said, "You mean, you didn't always know dad?" I got a good chuckle. Well nothing too exciting but that was our anniversary, and I didn't take one picture while we were away together! Oh well!
Grandpa Spencer drove us around in his Ford car.

New Rooms!

Last week the kids didn't have to go to school on Monday, which was so nice. It's amazing how much more I can get done when they stay home! My plan was to work on their room downstairs. The girls have been wanting to move downstairs for a long time. On Saturday I spent all day sanding, priming and painting their new closet. It's so nice, with a lot of shelves. Richard spent all day Saturday working on finishing the bathroom downstairs. By the end of the day we had running water, in the sink and tub and a working toilet. YEAH!
Still need to do some finishing work in the bathroom but everything does work.

So on Monday I was planning on painting their room. I was just planning on painting some stripes in the middle of the room. I had a green color and a bright pink. It took a lot longer then I had planned to measure and tape the walls. The girls were so good at playing with DJ and keeping him happy while I worked. They loved to poke their head in and see how I was doing! I finished painting one big pink stripe and then one big green stripe. I was looking at the wall and couldn't figure out how to finish it. It didn't look like I had planned. I phoned my friend Renee and she suggested on painting a smaller pink stripe on top of the green one. So that's what I did and I loved the result. The next day after the walls were dry I put on their wall stickers I had bought for their room. The girls were so excited. I also painted 2 white shelves, pink.
Here is the stripes I painted on their wall and some of the stickers I put up.

DJ insisted on helping me paint the two white shelves. He worked very hard on it!

What a stinking cute little boy!!! Love him!

Richard came home earlier that afternoon and started taking apart beds upstairs so we could move them down. I knew it was going to be a HUGE job, and wasn't too excited about starting it at 4pm! Ha ha!  After supper we got the beds down there and a dresser. I told the girls that we would finish taking everything down the next day. They were crazy excited about sleeping down there. I won't lie, I was a little worried. My girls are good sleepers but once in a while I wake up with little people sleeping on my floor! We put a night light in the boot room so it wouldn't be too dark if they had to come up to us in the middle of the night. I think I was more worried than they were! I checked on them a few times before I went to bed. They did awesome, slept all night. DJ did awesome in his own room! It makes me realize that my girls are growing up! The next night they were again very excited to go to bed. So much so, that they put themselves to bed without us knowing. We were upstairs putting DJ to bed, thinking they were downstairs playing or watching tv. Brianna came up and asked if we were going to come down and say good night to them. I jumped up and went down and asked, "When did you go to bed?" Brianna replied, "A long time ago mom." OOPS! Sure enough, there they were all tucked in their beds with the lights off. It was so cute!
Here's a picture of the girls room with all their stuff in it!!

Abbi and Brianna sitting on their beds. Not sure where Cadence is but her bed is the top bunk. They think that they are so grown up now, sleeping downstairs!!! I think they are too!

Our house has been a working zone lately. We've had people come and frame and mud and now spray the spackle on the ceiling and walls. It's a long and very messy process. I can't wait till it's all done and I can paint the walls and be done with everything.

The weather has been so nice out lately. The kids have had fun playing outside in our yard. I don't know if I mentioned it before but we got our driveway done. It was just gravel before, but now it's a nice big asphalt driveway. The kids love it. They go out and ride their bikes on it all the time. I love it too. I love getting things done on my house. We are slowly getting everything done.

I did DJ's room the next week. My plan was to make it into a "cars" room. Since he already had the Cars curtains, and bed set, I thought I would just go along with that theme. He was very happy about that. All I did was take some tape and put it up randomly along the wall. Then I measured 9" every so often and marked it then taped that. Then I painted the road and when that dried put on the yellow lines. DJ was beyond excited about me painting his room. The morning that I painted the road, he sat on his bed and kept saying over and over, "Tank tyou mum, tank tyou." It was so cute. He wouldn't stop saying it. He was so excited. I then bought a toy box from someone who was done with it. I had to paint it, since it was bright pink. But it's the perfect size for the room. He was able to fit all his totes of cars into the toy box. He's spent hours playing with his cars in his room. He loves it! It's not perfect but I think it worked out perfect!

My cute boy in his new room. There's the big toy box that we painted. It turned out perfect.

I painted the road high enough so he wouldn't be tempted to drive his cars on the wall! And yes, he has a tv in his room! That way when he wakes up at 6am, I pop in his Cars movie and that keeps him happy for about an hour so I can sleep till 7am. It doesn't happen every morning any more just once in a while. He's getting better at sleeping later in the morning (till 7 or 7:30am).
So there are the kids new rooms. They are very happy and so am I . Now I just need to figure out what to do with the empty room we have upstairs. It's just a small room and I was thinking of putting all their books in the room and making into a reading room. They have their comfy soft chairs and I thought about getting a couple of bean bag chairs. I don't know, we'll see how it turns out! I'm not too worried about it right now, since I have to paint the hallway and bathroom downstairs first. Always something to do around here!
