DJ's 5th Birthday!

My little boy is 5 now. So crazy, and he's not so little any more!! My boy is growing up! Makes me a little bit sad! But it's so fun to watch him grow! He's a funny kid and cracks me up all the time!

DJ got up and ate his yummy breakfast cereal that he picked out himself. Then we let him open one present. It was a punching bag. The perfect thing for my crazy boy! He loved it!

My mom came over in the afternoon to give DJ his present from them. He was super excited to get the movie, Turbo!

He just got home from pre-school and was super excited that they sang him happy birthday. He loved wearing his birthday hat!

The girls kept asking DJ if he wanted a friend birthday party. He kept telling me that he just wanted Dustin to come over. Dustin is in his pre-school class and we live pretty close to them. They have a lot of fun together. Anyways, I was fine with that. We invited him over for cake and ice cream with the family.

DJ couldn't decide what kind of cake he wanted. He kept changing his mind. First he really wanted a "Turbo racing cake"! He loves that movie! Then he was looking through the cake book and found a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake. That's what he wanted. There was no talking him out of it!!

So that's what I made. He was one happy boy! He helped me with the icing and had fun cleaning all the beaters!! I made the cake the night before and that was an epic fail! For some reason it didn't work. It tasted disgusting. So I had to make another one in the morning. Then when DJ came home from school we iced it.

We had tacos for dinner. Which Richard had all ready for us when we got back from the Celebration of Learning. It was a crazy day!! So we all sat down and ate some supper. Shelly and Eric came with Lisa's kids. So then the craziness just kept going!!

Then Dustin came over and we started the little birthday party. We had everyone sit around the table and sang happy birthday to DJ. He was a happy boy! Then we all had some cake and ice cream.

Then it was present time! The kids were super excited to watch DJ open all his presents! DJ cracks me up. He always is very careful and stacks each present after he opens it. He takes his time and it drives everyone else crazy. It's kind of funny!

So that was DJ's fun day! He was in heaven. He just wanted to sit down and figure out all his toys. I made a treasure hunt for everyone, but he wasn't even interested in it. He was busy playing with his toys!!

We love our boy so much! He makes us laugh everyday! Can't believe he's 5!! Love you to bits DJ!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
