DJ Turned 8!!!

I can't believe my baby turned 8! It's so crazy how fast time flies! He really wanted a big friends birthday party this year. So he helped me make the invites and send them out. His birthday was on a Monday so we had his friend birthday the Saturday before. He was SO EXCITED!!! To say the least!! We did a Lego theme.

His friends came and they were all so excited. I had some games planned but they just wanted to run around outside. Luckily it was so nice out so that was fine. They were running around on the dirt hills and jumping on the trampoline while I set up the targets for archery. That was a HUGE hit. We did archery for a while. Then we split them up into teams and they played cops and robbers. That was a big hit too.

Then it was time to come inside and do the piñata! Luckily David and Jill came by at this time. It was perfect timing I really needed help at this time. To keep it a bit safer! Ha ha!! Then we sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. We made him a Lego cake. He loved it. Then the kids had cake and ice cream. Then it was time to open presents. He was really spoiled by his friends. He mostly got different Lego sets. He was a happy kid. It was a fun afternoon!

For his birthday on Monday, there was no school! Yay!! So we decided to go into Lethbridge for lunch. We took him to Montana's and met Richard there. DJ loves eating Montana's ribs. It's his all time favorite. Then he got the Moose Hat on and we sang Happy Birthday to him. He got his free birthday dessert too! The girls gave him his gift that they bought for him. It was a fun afternoon!

He was so happy that he got to wear the crazy hat!!! There wasn't enough workers to do the singing so we just sang Happy Birthday to him our selves!! He was in heaven!

We came home and finished getting things ready for his Birthday. He wanted mashed potatoes, with chicken and some veggies. It was a super easy and yummy supper to do. So that's what we did! We decided to just invite the Grandparents over for birthday dinner and cake!

I made another cake for his family birthday party. What a lucky boy! Ha ha! He was pretty happy. We sang happy birthday to him and he blew out all the candles! Then we had cake and ice cream. It was a fun evening.

Then he opened his presents from us and his grandparents. I loved seeing his reactions and running and giving everyone hugs to say thank you. It was a fun night.

He loved the pop tent that we got him for his bed. He's always complaining about how I clean up his forts. So this one stays on his bed. It's really cool. He loves it.

The mattress sits right on it, so it doesn't fall off. He loves his pop tent!! Best present ever!! Ha ha!

So that was all the big birthday happening for our birthday boy!!! He was so excited to be turning 8! Even though people always mistaken him for a 11yr old. I mean, all the time. He is a super big boy. He's in size 12 and his shoe size is size 5. He's in grade 2 and his teacher is Miss. Neilson. He's had some hard times going to school. But when he does go he loves it. He's my big helper. Loves to do things for me. So cute. He always has crazy hair. It is usually sticking up in the back. Doesn't matter if I spray and comb it down. He has a crazy cowlick in the back. I told him a cow licked his hair when he was a baby. He thought that was so funny!! Ha ha!! He's a happy boy and loves to make people laugh. He's always coming up with different jokes and telling us his jokes at supper time. We love him so much and am so happy he's a part of our family! We love you DJ!! Happy Birthday!
