Christmas Eve!

In the morning the kids and I finished cleaning up the house and getting laundry caught up. Then Brianna made a batch of cookies, while I was putting together our breakfast casserole for Christmas morning. Richard had called and said a couple that he has done plumbing work for had no plans at all for Christmas and nobody was going out to see them. They live out in the country by Wolford. So he called us and asked us to make a plate of goodies and we could go visit them on our way to Cardston.

I also was cooking 30 baked potatoes for that night in Cardston too. We were going into Cardston to go swimming with the Spencer side. Then going over to Grandma Spencer's for a potato taco bar! Anyways, I felt like I was going 4 different directions that morning. Trying to get presents wrapped, food ready, treat plates ready etc, and cleaning and laundry. Luckily the kids all helped too!

Richard got home and we were ready to go. We loaded everything up, including swim suits and towels and we were ready to go! We went and visited the Foos' first. They are a very nice older couple that live out in the middle of no where! The kids were excited to give them the plate of goodies and I made her a Christmas kitchen towel. They invited us in and we sat down and visited with them for about 30-45 mins. They've lived a very interesting life. It was neat to hear their stories. The kids enjoyed the visit too. They had lots of cool things to look at too! Then we wished them a Merry Christmas and headed into Cardston.

We got to the hotel in town, where Grandma rented it for 2 hours. They even have a slide there. The kids were super excited to go swimming. Plus they really needed to burn off some of their energy, so it worked out perfect. I enjoyed swimming for a bit then relaxed in the hot tub and watched the kids! Then I took pictures too! Lots of fun!

Cadence flying down the slide!

DJ had fun swimming around. He went down the slide, when I was there to catch him. So no pictures of him on the slide.

Ha ha....love Abbi's expression coming off the slide.

Brianna's turn going down the slide.

After swimming, we all got out and dressed and headed over to Richard's grandparents house. His parents and sister with her family were in Hawaii for the month of December so they missed all the fun at Christmas time. We got there and helped get things ready, then Grandma had the kids go out to Grandpa's shop and they found a piñata! Talk about excitement. It was fun to watch them all go a little crazy! Ha ha! Then when it broke, instead of candy, there was a little present with each of the kids name on it. They were all pretty happy! Thanks Grandma....they loved it!
DJ takes piñata hitting pretty serious! Ha ha!

Cadence taking her swing at the thing.

Brianna's turn to whack at it!

Abbi hitting it hard.

Ha ha....DJ hitting it with his eyes closed.

It finally broke.

We then had our yummy supper of taco potatoes! It turned out delicious. There was lots of yummy desserts too. It was fun to visit with Richard's cousins and see their kids too. The kids had a blast playing downstairs too. Then it was ready to head for home. I was so tired that night! Ha ha!

We got home......oh and David followed us home. He was staying the night with us. We got Brianna's room all ready for him (that was another thing we did in the morning!). Once we got home the kids were so excited to open their Christmas Eve present. So that's what we did. Of course, they all got some jammies and books. They loved them. They ran and got their jammies on and wanted to go to bed. So they put cookies and milk out for Santa and we put them to bed. They read their books for a hour or so. So cute!! Then they FINALLY all fell asleep! Then we went to work!! I had things all ready so it didn't take too long. Yay! Then I was ready to go to bed.....so I did!

Richard and David were watching a movie together. They woke me up around midnight with all the noise they were making. They decided to put a door knob on DJ's door in the middle of the night! Ha ha......Richard told DJ's that Santa's elves did it for him. Because DJ has been asking for a LONG time for a door knob! Ha ha!
