First Day of School 2016!!

The kids had mixed feelings about their first day of school this year. DJ didn't want to leave me at home, knowing I was sick. The girls were all nervous because this year they are having a combined classes of all the Grade 5 and 6's! They are all in a gym with 5 teachers. They are renovating the school so there wasn't enough room for all the classes.

But they were still excited to get up in the morning and put on their new clothes and shoes and get their new backpack. All except for DJ! We were struggling with him. So I left him in the house with Richard so I could take some pictures of the girls before the bus came. Then DJ did come out and I got a picture of him too!
My triplets ready to go to Grade 5!! Can't believe they're that old!

My sweet Cadence!!!

Abbi insisted on getting a picture with her Sunflowers. She planted these back in the spring time. Look how big they got!

Brianna all ready to go!

DJ gave me a chance to take 1 picture!! Ha ha!! What a boy!

Then we walked out to the end of the driveway so I could get a picture of all my kids!! Brownie didn't want to be left out. He loved to be right with all the kids! Then the bus came and Abbi and Brianna got on to go to school. I had promised that I would take whoever wanted me too school that morning. So away we went.
My kids are getting so big! Love this picture of my cute kids waiting for the school bus!

Abbi and Brianna took the bus to school that morning!

There's the bus!

We got to the school and I noticed that I wasn't feeling good at all. I felt really weak and just wanted to get the kids there so I could go home. I took Cadence to her classroom (well her gym) and she found a place to sit. I told her good bye and then DJ and I went to go figure out where he goes. I saw Abbi and Brianna and they gave me a hug on the way to their class room!

DJ was suppose to go to the Tom Karren Gym where they divided up all the kids by grade and then class. It was total chaos. DJ took one look and said no. I didn't have the strength or energy to argue with him so I told him we were going.

We got in the vehicle and headed to Raymond so I could get my blood taken. I had a feeling that it's gone down a lot. I was right. I got my blood drawn and then we waited and got the paper to take to Dr Smith. We got right in and he told me my blood is at 76. Which is really low. He wanted to transfuse me right then. But I wanted to talk to my specialist first and he agreed. But he told me to call him as soon as I knew what we were to do. He actually gave me his cell phone number.

So DJ and I headed for home. He told me that he was ready to go to school. So I dropped him off at the school before I went home. I walked him into the school. Principal Sabey as there and put his arm around DJ and was so excited to see him. That made DJ really happy and he walked in with Mr. Sabey!

I got home and phoned Calgary. The receptionist answered right away and I explained why I was calling. I was wondering if she could find our what Dr. Mack would have me do. Well she went silent and then said, "This never happens, but someone just barely cancelled their appointment for 1:30pm today. Do you want to come?" Well it was 11am, I told her we might be a little late and she said that was fine. So I called Richard and told him to come home we needed to head to Calgary. So he came flying home.

Well we drove very quickly to Calgary. We flew! Luckily we didn't get pulled over by the cops. We made it to Calgary in 1hr and 45mins. But it took us longer to get right to the hospital and then we had to try and find parking (so fun)! Then we hurried inside to find the right office. By the time we made it there I was ready to faint! Really, I felt horrible. I couldn't even fill out the paper work, my hands were shaking so bad. So Richard filled it all out for me.

Then we were called back and the nurse looked at me and asked if I had eaten anything. She grabbed me a juice box and some cookies. She told me to eat that. So that's what I was doing when Dr. Mack walked in! Ha ha! He took one look at me and said I looked terrible. Then he looked at Richard and asked if I always look that pale. Which if you know me, I'm never pale. Anyways, he talked to us about what's going on. He said that they still haven't figured out what kind of tumor I have. Then he showed us the CAT scan of what the tumors look like and what the swollen lymph nodes look like too. It helped us understand better of what is going on with me. We had totally misunderstood the other specialist in Lethbridge. Anyways, he told us that he wants to take the tumor in my stomach out right away. It's causing too much trouble. Then they can do a biopsy of the 2nd tumor while they are in there. So we filled out all the paper work and I signed my consent to the surgery. He said that it would happen within the next 2 weeks. Which was fine with us. In the meantime he told me to go get a blood transfusion from Dr Smith. He put in the order on my file and Dr Smith will be able to see it. So nice that they can work together. He said once they get the biopsy results back then we can plan from there. But he wasn't making any guesses, he wanted to be sure before we start talking about different possibilities. He was super nice and made me feel way better about everything.

Then we headed for home. I was feeling absolutely horrible. I kept telling Richard that we needed to stop. I felt like I was going to be sick. He finally stopped at a store where I hurried into the bathroom. We decided that maybe I need to eat something. But when I'm feeling that horrible I have no appetite. But I tried a soup from Subway. It was actually really delicious. Then we kept heading for home.

I called Dr. Smith on his cell phone and explained what happened. He told me to be at the hospital before 8am the next morning. I agreed and then went to bed. I was exhausted. So mom came and was there before the kids got on the school bus. I hugged them good bye and told them where I was going. DJ hated coming home from school the other day and I wasn't there. Tiffani had come out and was there for when my kids got home from school. So that was good.

Well to make a LONG story short, I was a the Raymond hospital for 16 hours. Yup you heard me right 16hrs. I wasn't expecting that. They transfused 4 units of blood into me. Which is quite a bit. It took just over 3 hrs per bag to put it into me. I had naps and read my book. Luckily I came prepared with my own pillow and blanket. Richard came and saw me and then my dad came and played cards with me after his work. By the 3rd unit I was starting to feel way better!
Me all warm and comfy at the hospital getting my blood!

Reading my book!

The blood going into me!

So after my transfusion I felt way better. I was able to do some shopping with my kids and get a whole bunch of groceries just because I knew this feeling wasn't going to last for very long! I took the kids into Lethbridge with me on Friday and we did some shopping and then we stopped and got a pizza for supper. It was really nice out so we stopped at a different park and I let them play for a bit. It was a perfect afternoon! I'm glad we did that!
DJ wanted me to buy this Oilers Jersey!! Ha ha...it was huge on him!

Abbi and Brianna at the play ground. They were playing grounders!

I thought that this would be a cool picture of my 4 kids together. But they weren't all cooperating! Abbi was not impressed!
