DJ's Field Trip!

The very next day I drove the bus for DJ's field trip. Again the whole grade was squished onto one bus. We had gotten an extra long bus from Cardston. So that worked out perfect! We were off around 9:30am. The first was stop was the Galt Museum. I dropped all the kids off and then went and parked the bus.

First they were in a room where they listened to a lady talk about how Lethbridge was back in the olden day. The kids were pretty attentive and really taking everything in. I thought it was cute at how interested they all were.
All the kids listening to the lady. DJ way over on the far left.

Then we moved into the big open room where you could see the train bridge through the huge window. That was DJ's favorite part. He loves watching the train bridge. She talked about the different mines that they had back then.

After that they moved into an interactive room. They all sat in a room that looked like a Teepee. It was super cute. By this time I was so tired. Not sure why, but I was getting a little bored with all the talking. But the kids were doing surprisingly well!

Then the lady divided them all up into groups of 4 or 5 grouped with an adult. So DJ was with me with 3 other kids. We had a little treasure hunt that we had to go on. She gave us 5 clues and we had to find 5 objects that matched. Away we went. The kids thought that that was so much fun! We raced around the room and found cool things to take pictures of too! It was a fun activity.

I love this boy with all his awesome facial expressions!! Ha ha!!

Aaaahhhhh, a buffalo!!

After that we went back to the first room and all the kids sat down at a table. She was then passing around old time objects. The kids got to touch them and try to figure out what it was used for. Then she explained how they used to make butter. She had them make their own butter by shaking a container and singing a song. DJ took to heart and sang the song as he shook it! So funny! After the butter was made they all got to have some of the butter on some crackers. It was pretty yummy!
DJ was singing and shaking the cream at the same time. Everyone thought it was so funny......including him!

I then went and got the bus and pulled up to pick everyone up. Then we headed down to Indian Battle Park. We went straight to the Helen Schuller Center. We were divided up into 2 groups. Our group went into the center first and got to just walk around and check everything out. I just stuck with DJ and took pictures of him! He loved it in there. Everything was just so interesting!

Then it was our turn to go outside for their little presentation. It was only 5 minutes long or so. She was just talking about how it's so important to stay on the pathway and leave the wild life alone. Then it was time to go for lunch.

We got back in the bus and I drove around to the smaller play ground area where we all sat around and ate our lunches. I was starving by then and I enjoyed sitting by DJ and eating with him. It was fun being able to hang out with my boy!

After lunch we all walked over to the bigger playground and the kids ran around and played. I just stuck with DJ and he had fun doing different things. He finally got enough friends to play the tag game on the track they have there. He thought that it was so cool!
My cute boy!!! Love him to pieces!!

Seriously can't get enough of his smile!! Cool picture with the train bridge in the background too!

Where's DJ?!!!

After that it was time to go home. It was such a fun day! Glad I was able to go! DJ is such a cute and kind boy. I had to laugh at him. He went straight to the back of the bus and sat on the very back seat. He was surrounded by all side by girls. They just thought he was so funny. Always laughing at him and some of the girls getting in trouble cause they kept turning around in their seats to laugh at DJ!! Ha ha ha! Made me laugh!! So cute!
